I use the Yeti for screencast voiceover work, and it rocks. It is the quietest USB mic I have tested, and the tone and clarity of the recordings that it produces are amazing.

At first, I thought that I didn't like the loosness of the volume and gain knobs, but it actually makes sense that they have some play to reduce "finger noise" when adjusting on the fly.

The mic, while big (very big and heavy, but not "too" heavy without the desktop stand attached), fits nicely into my Rode SM2 Shockmount. It won't go all of the way in, but I wouldn't want it to as that would obscure the knobs. I just curl the USB cord underneath it and set it in there and it works out well. Is this a stage-ready solution? No, because the Yeti is not actually attached to the mount, but it's perfect for stationary desktop boom-arm applications.

All in all, I'd say BUY THIS MIC !!! You probably won't find a better deal than B&H offers either (at least, I couldn't).

I hate wearing headsets, so I keep trying to believe there is such a thing as a good desktop mic that I can use while gaming. Let's just say I'm familiar with the push-to-talk button. This one sounded promising but it is just too sensitive for my intentions.

I have it on cardioid mode with the gain turned all the way down. I have tried it beside my keyboard/mouse and in front of them. The best I can do is turn the mic volume down and keep it right in front of me. I hope moving my computer under the desk will stop or at least lessen the fan sounds.

I believe this mic is really just meant to be used in a quiet isolated recording environment.

If you, like me, are just looking for a desktop mic and your environment will have ANY sounds (clicks, button presses, fans, etc.); this may not be a good choice of microphone. As a desktop mic, it is definitely an improvement over the cheap Logitech one I was using; It's nice to hear some bass/warmth in my voice.

The microphone stops working frequently. I don't know if this is a problem with Skype, the USB cable, or the USB hub I have it connected to. I am looking into this issue. Just thought I should mention it as it happens very frequently. To fix, I simply unplug and replug the microphone.

I purchased on e a bout 3 years ago and it still works great! I love the sound and options! I bough this second one to take with me on the road. I know that there are smaller and lighter mics available but I love the quality of this one too much to use anything else.

USB mics are the easiest way to travel and record on the road. I have the Snowball and this mic is WAY better for sound quality, direction array and ruggedness. It will take a beating and still sound GREAT.

Comments about Blue Yeti Multi-Pattern USB Microphone:

I had asked a few professionals that do audio video for a recommendation and the Yeti came up several times. I am not a full-time audio video producer. In fact my real job is policy development for healthcare but I do a fair amount of pod-casting and voice over for presentations so I wanted something that was decent that I could use with my desktop tools and this was the right price point for the quality I wanted. If you want to be able to record your voice for work related output and aren't happy with what you can get over the counter at [*] I would pick this up.

Comments about Blue Yeti Multi-Pattern USB Microphone:

I'm not a professional audio person by any means, but I have been doing voiceovers for technical presentations that I like to share with a large group of people. The internal microphones in my PC (and even the much better one in my high-end web cam) didn't provide the voice quality I wanted for those talks. The Yeti was reasonably priced, worked with built-in drivers on OSX, and provided excellent voice quality. Recommended for others in my category who want a better recording experience at a reasonable price without installing extra software on your system.

I'll start by being clear that this isn't a PERFECT mic, I think with trying to have multiple modes, it doesn't do any of them as well as more dedicated mics do. BUT... it's easy, the performance is solid, and the price is awesome.

I grabbed this mic for it multi-pattern, tri-capsule array setup. My company had its monthly company meeting in the warehouse. Some of the persenters chose to stand 15 feet away from the mic and talked predominantly in the other directly. This Blue Yeti was able to clearly pick them up for the recording which sounded near professional dispite the mobile, highly unoptimized setup.

Great mic, does what I need it to do.

I love my new Yeti, I just used it for singing vocals on a new song. I read the simple directions to get it working on my Mac. I first was using a bad pair of earbuds when I tested it, and it scared me because the sound was very electronic sounding. But then I switched to better earbuds from the Mac store, and the vocal sound was clear and perfect. The Yeti is really sensitive and picks up details in the voice. I recommend using a pop screen with it, for sure. It has a nice deep full tone and a "buttery smooth" sound, compared to my built in mic on my computer which has more of a high end sound. I'm really happy I got the Yeti. I almost went with a pre-amp instead, but this Yeti seemed simpler to use.. just plug it in and it's ready to go. I used it with Garageband.

It's clear, powerful simple to just plug in and is great for just about everything. Most definitely better than sliced bread and will always get five stars in my book.

I mainly got this microphone to record ukulele because most other microphones (especially my computer's built in microphone) can't handle the high pitch very well. I've recorded a couple songs I know and they sound amazing! This is definitely a professional grade microphone.

I wanted something inexpensive but still do the trick without letting go of quality. This mic is pretty good for its price. Although it is still in the lower end of the high quality mics, it produces a warm sound of a microphone 3-4 times its cost.

This product is my very first microphone. Its ease of use and crystal clear recordings make it perfect for a first time user. It accomplishes everything I need it to without a complex system to distract from my projects.
                        It's awesome!

This is our second one, still the best "bang for the buck" in our opinion. The recording quality is really good, and the multiple settings actually work for different recording situations. We primarilly use them for recording singing and the audio quality is excellent. Super easy to use on our computer with free recording software like Garage Band, i-movie, and others. Chrystal clear from hush tones to soul screams!

You will think the box is heavy when your Blue Yeti arrives... that isn't packing material... your new microphone has some serious heft to it. The Yeti is sturdy and tough. You will love the quality and the ease of use. In my opinion, the best value out there for this price.

Comments about Blue Yeti Multi-Pattern USB Microphone:

A very simple and sterdy microphone that has good weight to it. From the box to you're hand you can feel the quality of the mostly metal frame that gives you the assurance of great build quility. Sound output is clear and precise with little to no pickup from outside sounds. This mic is good for starters or returning users. The only negative aspect is it does not come with a pop filter but that can be easly taken care of for a few bucks. Overall a great microphone from blue 9/10.
