Comments about Denon AVR-1913 7.1 Channel 3D Pass Through and Networking Home Theater Receiver:
I bought this receiver to use to do an ipod wedding reception dance. Was using it with some high quality JBL speakers. I had the volume set to about 80% and after about 50 minutes the device overheated and shut off. After about 45 seconds it turned back on, but then shut off again. Thank God the reception room had a high quality system that we were able to quickly switch over to or the reception would have been a disaster!
Nothing was blocking the receiver at all. The speakers that were being used were from a JBL SCS200.7 home theater pack. I was using a satellite speaker for zone 2 and a center speaker and a second satellite speaker for zone 1.
Center Speaker: 100W, 100Hz-20kHz (-6dB)
8 Ohms Satellite: 100W, 110Hz-20kHz (-6dB)

I did not purchased here. But I have helpful info. Reviewer no. 2 was concerned about not having a wireless connection to the internet. Netgear makes the WNCE2001, which I have. This solves the beautifully problem...

Comments about Denon AVR-1913 7.1 Channel 3D Pass Through and Networking Home Theater Receiver:
I bought this to replace my excellent but all-analog Sony receiver. My requirements included support for speakers in a second room and Internet radio. I'm mostly very happy with it, with a few disappointments.
PRO: Excellent setup features, excellent results
- Computer-assisted setup, including automatic calibration of each speaker using a (supplied) microphone, automatic detection of phase errors (reversed speaker polarity). The result is output that is perfectly tuned to your speakers and your room. I'm very happy with the result.
- Excellent menus for configuring the input devices, including customizing the labels that are displayed for each
- Support for speakers in a separate room (zone 2). "7.1" can be configured as 5.1 in one room and 2 in a second room. That's how I'm using it. AND: the second zone has its own volume control and can even play something entirely different than the main room (e.g. TV in the main room and FM or Internet radio in Zone 2).
- Separete power amp for each speaker. Lots of reasons why this is a good design.
- Besides Internet radio, the network connection enables the unit to automatically update its software so you get the latest & greatest features & bug fixes.
CON:
- No digital (HD) FM receiver - analog radio only. (Big disappointment for me. What WERE they thinking?!)
- Only wired networking; no wireless. I had to run a Cat6 cable through the crawl space to hook it up. What a pain!
