The TiVo Premiere is much more than a DVR. The unit connects to your cable service and replaces your cable box, while being smaller, more energy efficient and more powerful than previous TiVo generations. Besides a cable box you get a movie box, a Web box, and a music box.
Record your favorite shows and discover new ones with TiVo's revamped HD interface. Control live TV with pause, rewind, slow-motion and instant replay functions. Record up to 75 hours of high-definition programming with this digital video recorder.
The device includes a free TiVo app for the iPad, iPhone, and Android. It lets you search, browse, discover and share without ever interrupting what you're watching.
Users can access their enormously populated on-demand video store, which includes movies and TV shows from TiVo online partners like Netflix, Amazon Instant Video.
Tivo users will have to purchase a monthly service through Tivo.

I discontinued satellite TV service and installed an antenna so wanted a way to record programs and pause live TV. The TiVo Premiere fits the bill perfectly. The installation was easy and straight forward. With the guide service, programming favorite programs is a snap. I have had no problems.

This TiVo was purchased as an upgrade to our older model. Setup was easy and we were able to choose the older screen interface which we preferred. The additional HD storage capacity is much appreciated, and the remote can be set up to control both the TV and the TiVo separately. We would recommend this TiVo to others.

We purchased this as an upgrade to our old TiVo model and are very satisfied. The cost was reasonable and the additional HD recording time was an added bonus. Comes with a programmable remote that allows separate control of the TiVo, the TV and the Surround Sound. The new software and activation was a little tricky, but the TiVo customer service provided excellent guidance.

Didn't realize that you have to get a subscription to use so returned it for a Magnavaux which is a device which works without any added monthly fees.
