The 1.25" diameter barrel Delos 8mm 72° Eyepiece from Tele Vue is a compact durable wide-field telescope eyepiece designed for mid to short-range lunar and planetary observations. Wide pupil diameter and adjustable eye relief make this eyepiece ideal for comfortable long-duration observation sessions. Contrast is enhanced by an adjustable height rubber eyecup that prevents stray light from degrading the image transmitted through the ocular. Anti-reflective multicoated optics ensures bright, high contrast, color faithful images from edge to edge.

Wide 72° apparent field of view displays a broad image with minimal optical distortion, ideal for planetary and lunar observation.
Images are color neutral from edge to edge, even as the observed object approaches the field stop. Anti-reflective multicoated optics ensures bright, high contrast, color faithful light transmission.
Wide pupil diameter and adjustable eye relief ensure comfortable long-duration observation through your telescope.

Comments about Tele Vue Delos 8mm 72° Eyepiece (1.25"):

I have been observing through telescopes for 47 years and making them for 40 years. I have had everything from .965" to 1.25" and 2" eyepieces. I purchased my first Televue eyepiece in 1991 and now have a wonderful set of Televue Ethos and Delos eyepieces. They are the highest quality eyepieces that I have observed with. Before I purchased the 8mm Delos, I purchased the 4.5mm Delos. For my observing conditions and equipment, it was a bit too much magnification. I will keep it for lunar and planetary observations on those nights when the seeing allows its use. I liked the size (small fist), weight (~1 lb), and field of view (72-deg AFOV) so much that I ordered an 8mm Delos. This is just an exceptional medium-to-high power eyepiece...absolutely one of the very best eyepieces that I have ever owned. The price is also very reasonable, compared to an Ethos. As an engineer at Kennedy Space Center, I know the value of nice glass and knowing that I am using Televue and, in my opinion, the finest glass that I can buy, adds to the "peace" that I have that I am seeing the very best view that my equipment can provide. Highly recommended!

Comments about Tele Vue Delos 8mm 72° Eyepiece (1.25"):

Being a long time amateur astronomer and having looked through most all the Panoptics, Naglers, and a few Ethos I can honestly say these are fast becoming my favorite eyepieces. I would highly recommend these.
