The Kirk PZ-148 Quick Release Plate is an ultra-compact and lightweight quick release plate that is custom designed to snugly fit a Canon EOS 5D Mark III. Machined from 6061T6 industrial strength aluminum, it follows a weight-saving hollowed-out design. It also features an anti-slip lip that prevents the camera from rotating, especially during vertical shots.
This plate follows the industry-standard Arca-Swiss design, which also makes it compatible with quick release components from other manufacturers (e.g. Arca-Swiss, Acratech, Foba, Graf/Studioball, Novoflex, Wimberley, et cetera).

I use it to attach my camera to my tripod ball head. The quality and features are much better than the plate on my other camera. A threaded hole that can be used to screw it into a non-quick-release mount and a strap loop. My mount is too deep for the safety stops to do any good. My only complaint is that it is not exactly the same size as my other plate making it difficult to adjust the lever on my quick release to firmly grab both plates. I have to make a little adjustment every time and that is a bummer.

this product was and upgrade from the generic Arca-type plate I had that would slip or shift slightly during long exposures. the PZ-148 Arca-Type Compact Quick Relase Plate by Kirk hugs my 5D III very well and there is no slip at all during long exposures but I wouldn't call it "compact" by any means. It's much larger then the generic plate that it replaced.

Comments about Kirk PZ-148 Arca-Type Compact Quick Release Plate:
The strap look allows me to permanently attach my sling strap to the camera plate and leave the plate on the camera (canon 5dm3) all the time.
My camera always has the strap attached and I can quickly put my camera on the tripod whenever I need too.

Comments about Kirk PZ-148 Arca-Type Compact Quick Release Plate:
This plate fit my 5DIII perfectly. It fits into my Arcatech ball head perfectly. It came with the L-wrenches needed for installation and includes stops, if you need them. I like the strap mounting point.

Comments about Kirk PZ-148 Arca-Type Compact Quick Release Plate:
This plate is well made, it fits Canon 5D Mark III body perfectly, and works with RRS quick release system, the fit is slightly tighter than the original RRS plates, so it requires a little bit more strength to close the clip.

Comments about Kirk PZ-148 Arca-Type Compact Quick Release Plate:
This quick release place enables you to connect a wrist strap to a camera such as the 5Ds without having to have the grip attached. The plate works with any Arca Type tripod head. Although it is a little thicker than other plates, having the option to use a wrist strap makes it more versatile.

Comments about Kirk PZ-148 Arca-Type Compact Quick Release Plate:
One of the best plate you can get for the 5D III.
Fits perfectly, comes with the stop screws and all required hardware.
I have a L-Plate with battery grip but I keep this one when I need a lightweight combo, on the go.

Comments about Kirk PZ-148 Arca-Type Compact Quick Release Plate:
I bought this to be a permanent fixure on my 5D3. I attach my Canon E2 handstrap (minus the dongle) to it and it is solid as a rock. I use the plate on my RRS lever style clamp and it is very solid.
Well made and it fits like a glove.
