Use the GoFlex Thunderbolt Adapter from Seagate with your GoFlex Desk drive for extremely fast transfers of large files, and daisy-chaining for less clutter around your computer. Connect your drive and Thunderbolt cable to the adapter for interface speeds of up to 20 times faster than USB 2.0 technology. The dual ports allow you to link up to six devices in a daisy-chain to reduce the number of cables and amount of clutter on your desk.

I am using this with 2 Seagate 3 GB drives. One is a GoFlex and the other the newer MyBackup. The adapter works with both. I reformatted the MyBackup drive to a Mac OS format. The speed is noticeably faster than USB, FW400 or FW800. I would rate it 5 stars if it came with a Thunderbolt cable and was priced more reasonably.

Upgrading from a good Dell system to a MacBookPro (Retina) with two Thunderbolt ports. Bought this speed up an existing GoFlex Desk 3TB drive from USB 3.0 to Thunderbolt Adaptors.
Installed in minutes. Speed is truly impressive.
Runs in daisy-chain with companion 3TB GoFlex disk purchased with adapter, and a T'bolt adapter for 2.5" GoFlex FreAgent 500GB drive for traveling.

Simple and easy to use. Way better than USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 to backup or transfer files. Plugged in my SATA HDD and started backing up my entire Mac HDD and it only took about 15 mins compared to previously having to wait for up to 5-6 hrs.

The Go Flex Thunderbolt Adapter is the quickest way to move data to your Seagate desk drive. Just detach the bottom of your drive and put it on the adapter. It is easy and mega fast.
