The K30 Digital Camera with 18-55mm AL Lens Kit (White) from Pentax is a great entry for hobbyists looking to purchase a DSLR for the first time, or photographers who need a new camera with a more rugged construction and an included lens. With a fast 6 frames per second and built-in image stabilization, it will easily catch your kids playing in the big game, or the hummingbird that visits your feeder. You'll also be able to shoot worry-free due to the K30's full weather sealing that allows for use in any weather condition, including below-freezing temperatures of 14° F!
With 16.3 megapixels, and a maximum resolution of 4928 x 3264, you'll also have free reign to print enlargements, easily up to 11 x 14" and beyond, to hang up in the living room or a home office. Should a single image not be able to fully capture the moment, you can even switch to video mode, with live view, and capture stunning 1080p Full HD clips of every detail--to relive whenever you want, even on a big-screen TV.
For a bit of creative freedom, there are several different capture modes that can be used to define your unique style as a photographer, including: Extract Color, Toy Camera, Retro, High Contrast, Shading, Invert Color, Color, and even HDR (High Dynamic Range). With just three exposures the camera can capture and align the images by pixel to create HDR images with ease.

Comments about Pentax K30 Digital Camera with 18-55mm AL Lens Kit (White):
I bought this gem to upgrade my Pentax K-r and it did not disappoint me. Handling is very conventional .It fits well in the hand and puts a good number of buttons within easy reach. Dual-dial is great feature to adjust parameters with ease without going to menu options plus both front and rear control dials can be customized. Image quality is great and I'm getting consistent good results with this camera. If you are considering upgrade any older Pentax model you have or if you have Pentax lenses, don't think twice...go for it!

Comments about Pentax K30 Digital Camera with 18-55mm AL Lens Kit (White):
I think this camera is great. I am a beginner so felt a bit out of my element when I first opened the box. After using auto for the first day and a half, I realized just what I had been missing in my point and shoot. I've been reading my manual and doing lots of "playing" with the settings and I love this camera and love learning about all the things it can do. The low light pics have turned out great. The fast action shots have been great as well and my portraits have looked fabulous. One of the features that swayed me to the Pentax is the weather-sealing. Though I haven't purchased the WR lens (yet) I'm excited to take it on vacation this summer to the coast. The video is just ok...but I knew it would be from the reviews, but it works good for the few times I'll use it and its really not bad just could be better. The white body is really sharp looking! And hey any electronic in white is always better in my book! I did a lot of searching before buying this camera. I bought it from B&H not only because it was a great price, but because I talked with a salesperson in their store beforehand. He assured me that if I wasn't happy I could return it within 30 days (and answered many questions about the camera!) I like knowing I have someone on the other end of the shopping experience who can help me personally...I will definitely be a future customer! And though I don't have the most technical review, I love this camera and would buy it again!

Comments about Pentax K30 Digital Camera with 18-55mm AL Lens Kit (White):
Ok so far, the camera is great. Pentax really beat the competition with this camera. I bought this one in white and just aesthetics it is gorgeous and people really love the pearly white color that Pentax gave it. Extra points there.
The weight of the camera is perfect and the grip is a wonder to hold on to (even a little better to hold than my K-5 II). The focus is rather fast, but that depends on the lens really (for the most part). It focuses pretty well in decently dark situations.
What can't you love about it, it's also weather resistant just as long as you get yourself a DA* or a WR lens from Pentax and you're set to shoot in some rain, dessert, misty beach areas and more.
I had a friend switch from the T4i over to the K-30 after he saw it and just saw the better specs of the K-30 compared to it.
Better sensor, IQ, color depth, dynamic range, HDR and 100% pentaprism viewfinder.

Comments about Pentax K30 Digital Camera with 18-55mm AL Lens Kit (White):
I use this camera to take pictures of live music in Ausitn, TX.I did a ton of research before I bought the K30, and it wins in a side by side comparison against any camera in its class hands down. It does amazing low light shots at night without a flash. So, it's really nice not having to blind bands when im at a show. The features built into the camera to edit photos are amazing. It's like Instagram on steroids. Most cameras don't have the ability to crop pictures and change out digital filters in post. Its weatherproof, can use AA batteries as a backup, and the camera feels solid. I went to a local camera shop to check out the K30 initially, and later found it on B&H for almost $300 less! If you are looking for a quality entry level DSLR, without breaking the bank, The K30 is the one and B&H is the place to buy it. No panoramic mode, only 16 Megapixels, shutter isn't the quietest, no tilt/swivel display

Comments about Pentax K30 Digital Camera with 18-55mm AL Lens Kit (White):
My experience with any camera other than a Point-and-Shoot was very limited . This was my fist try at a real camera. I received the camera two days before our family vacation, so I did not have time to "play" with it much. I could not be happier with the results. The weather resistant camera body and lens allowed me to use it every where we went including the beach. I took over 300 photos and they all came out great.
A great buy. Extremely happy with purchase.
