Using this in conjunction with the Sonnet Thunderbolt to Express card adapter, to interface with an array. For some reason I have to restart the computer twice on boot up to get all the discs on the array to show up. But after that everything is solid.

Comments about Sonnet 2-Port Tempo SATA Pro 6 Gb ExpressCard/34 Expansion Card:

It is as described. I needed something to utilize the thunderbolt on my laptop with eSATA RAIDs and dock to back up footage while in the field. Using this expansion card with the Sonnet Echo Pro ExpressCard/34 Thunderbolt adapter gives much improved throughput over FW800.
Only one gripe, and not sure if its this expansion card or the thunderbolt adapter, but the insertion is a push in to lock, then push in again to unlock and pull out. However, the lock doesn't work very well, and you don't even have to push it in to unlock it, you can very easily just pull it out. Be careful! To be safe, I gaff tape it all together to avoid accidentally ejection of the expansion card during producition.

Bought the Tempo SATA Pro 6 Gb because cheaper off brands weren't compatible with my Sonnet Echo Pro.

Got it quickly in the mail, installed the drivers, plugged it into my Echo and it worked great. It's also really cut down on my download time when I do data management on set, so I can get home just a bit sooner :)

Comments about Sonnet 2-Port Tempo SATA Pro 6 Gb ExpressCard/34 Expansion Card:

I use the Sonnet 2-Port Tempo SATA Pro 6 Gb ExpressCard/34 mostly to connect hard disk drives to a MacBook Pro (the February 2011 Thunderbolt version.) It works in both the MacBook Pro's built-in ExpressCard/34 port and the Sonnet Echo Pro Thunderbolt Adapter.

Advantages: No additional driver is required. S.M.A.R.T is supported natively for attached disk drives. Data transfer rates are faster than with Sonnet's older SATA ExpressCard/34 expansion card. The MacBookPro can boot from external disk drives connected to this expansion card, though I have not yet tried this feature.

Disadvantages: Some eSATA devices may not work. Particularly, my Mercury Pro DVD/BluRay burner is not recognized by this card. Also, some hard drive docking stations with more than one drive may recognize only one of the drives when connected to this expansion card, because they may lack the required "Port Multiplier" feature.

Lastly, if a hard disk drive connected to this expansion card has a bad sector, my MacBook Pro may hang or crash. This may be a problem with Apple's Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) driver. However, bad sectors do not cause hangs or crashes with Sonnet's older SATA ExpressCard/34 expansion card.
