The VAIO S1511 SVS15116FX/S 15.5" Notebook Computer (Silver) from Sony delivers optimal performance and excellent mobility. The beautiful brushed aluminum shell conceals the storage technologies for ultra-fast boot times as well as the battery for longer battery life. The fully flat design provides an ultra-smooth build without adding any extra heft. It also makes it easier to place in bags and laptop sleeves.
For viewing all your favorite videos or photos, this Sony VAIO Ultrabook supports Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) technology, which allows you stream HD video content to your HDTV. You'll need an Intel WiDi-compliant TV adapter, such as the Netgear Push2TV (sold separately), to utilize this technology. You can also use the integrated HDMI port on your Sony VAIO Ultrabook to connect to your HDTV using an HDMI cable (sold separately), which supports both audio and video signals.
The system is powered by a quad-core Ivy Bridge 2.1GHz Intel Core i7-3612QM processor. It also has 8GB of DDR3 RAM (4GB onboard + 4GB removable), 750GB 5400rpm hard drive, 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and an integrated webcam and microphone. There are also integrated stereo speakers that utilize Clear Phase and xLoudClear Phase technologies for richer sound. xLoud technology enhances speaker volume without sacrificing quality. Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

I wanted a computer that I could use for keeping in touch with my normal life while travelling. It also had to be capable of running Premiere pro (Additional disk used). It did not disappoint in this regard.
On the negative side, I don't know how other Windows laptops are, but the sound is wimpy and the touch pad horrible compared to my sons Mac.
I bought a mouse and earphones to solve the above.
I was also dismayed to find no disks for the preloaded software so it is going to be a problem if I ever have to reload windows.

I've bought this intention to upgrade the HHD to SSD. Besides the Hard disk everything is great. Just upgrading the disk sped this computer 10 fold. I got a 2 year old macbook pro and this thing is much faster.
Only thing i need to get used to is the keyboard. having full numpad moves everything to the left a bit causing miss keys.

Bought this laptop to replace a large gaming laptop. I wanted something with the muscle to support online gaming, but also something light and portable. This laptop certainly seems to fit the bill of the balance between power and portability.
A few quibbles, no dedicated hard dial for volume control, no wifi on/off switch, and bottom of laptop does get pretty warm after an hour or two of gaming. It would have been nice to have better airflow, but with a machine this light (4.4 lbs!) there must be compromise somewhere. Also, the sound quality from the speakers is pretty flat/wimpy.
My only concern would be if the heat would impact the longevity of this laptop, otherwise I am mostly satisfied and would make this purchase again.
