The iCandy DSLR Smartphone Adapter from iCandy, Inc. is a multi-functional, universal adapter that allows you to display a smartphone at the end of your lens in order to enhance your portrait photography. Babies and children will enjoy seeing cartoons and video clips, while adults or models can get real-time feedback if you turn on your phone's front-facing camera--allowing them to see and understand your posing recommendations even more.
Should you own a camera with a battery grip attached, don't worry, iCandy still has you covered. Your order comes with two different height extenders, including one that is 3.0" long, and one that is 1.75" long, both to compensate for battery grips. The device will mount to your camera via its tripod mount on the bottom, yet still allowing you to connect a tripod beneath it. Once it is all attached, you can simply adjust the arm by loosening a knob and sliding it to match the length of your lens up to 6.0" out.
With the millions and millions of apps out there, you don't have to worry about which ones are compatible, or which to use--they're all a possibility! Children may enjoy cartoons or video clips, allowing you to capture their wonder and excitement as they look up into the lens. For older subjects and models, instead of playing cartoons on your phone you should instead turn on the phone's front-facing camera for the subject to see. This will allow them to get instant feedback on your posing recommendations--making everyone's job easier.

This product has been a lifesaver. I predominantly shoot alone, and it's always been difficult to entertain my subject, especially children, and change camera settings, lighting, etc. iCandy completely eliminates one of those problems.

Its a good idea but the design is bad. When I trying the adaptor out at home it seemed to work just fine but when I trying actually using it with clients on a real shoot the adaptor would NOT stay tight and would move everytime I tried to take a verical shot. I would try to tighten the adaptor but it wouldn't stay tight. I have returned this.
