Comments about Gitzo G1173-14B Quick Release Plate for G1172/1276:

Not the sort of product I would normally rate; it's not an optional item, but a requirement to use certain Gitzo tripods. Nonetheless, it is easy enough to use and it holds tightly even with a heavy load. I like the concept of quick-release plates because I can keep them attached to camera bodies and certain lenses and grab-and-go.

Comments about Gitzo G1173-14B Quick Release Plate for G1172/1276:

I use this as a spare plate on a focusing rail so that I can leave my other plate on the long lens where it spends most of its time. These plates work fairly well, although they do loosen occasionally, especially if you move around with the camera on the tripod. Given that losing a plate will render you whole tripod and head useless it doesn't hurt to own a spare.

I bought this plate to go on my 2nd camera. There is really nothing to say about this plate. It works great on my Gitzo 2750QR off centered head.

Comments about Gitzo G1173-14B Quick Release Plate for G1172/1276:

The Gitzo quick release plate is a very inovative design. It easily attaches to your camera and is very secure when attached to your Gitzo tripod. I purchased two so that I could change cameras very quickly without having to remove the quick release plate and have to reattach it to another camera. Very well made. It will last a lifetime.
