The AT-3421 Aluminum Tripod with BA-106T Ball Head from Oben is a sturdy yet lightweight tripod with legs that fold upward 180° to create an extremely compact package for transport – with the included head attached, folded length is only 16.8". For further versatility, one of the legs unscrews from the chassis and attaches to the head & center column to form a working-height monopod. With a system load capacity of 6.6 lb, the tripod and head ensure a stable base for many DSLR body/lens combinations.

With the four leg sections and the center column extended, the maximum height of the tripod with the head is 59.0". The legs are non-rotating, which enables single-handed operation of all three rubber twist locks on each leg: One twist of the wrist, and the three leg stages descend. Each leg is independently adjustable, and they can be locked securely at three different angles. The tripod's feet feature rubber tips that can be removed to reveal metal spikes, allowing you to shoot both indoors and outdoors on any terrain.

To shoot in monopod mode, simply unscrew the leg that forms the base of the monopod, remove the center column from the chassis, and screw these two elements together. With the head & center column mounted on the extended leg, you have a full size monopod that's even taller than the tripod at full height.

Like the legs, the center column features a twist lock that frees up its extension and retraction. For protection when it's retracted quickly, there's a rubber damper that protects the center-post collar. At the bottom of the center column is a spring-loaded ballast hook that allows you to attach a counterweight for extra stability. The detachable hook doubles as a stopper for the center column, which can be removed and reversed for low-angle shooting.

The BA-106T head's single-action knob allows you to unlock all axes of movement in one fell swoop, so you can quickly orient your camera properly, retighten the knob, and return to shooting. This enables fast setup changes, and frees you to keep a finger on the shutter release while you're making a quick adjustment to the head's orientation. The BA-106T head has a 90° notch which facilitates shooting in portrait orientation. A bull's eye bubble level ensures your camera is aligned with the horizon.

The included quick-release plate has a retractable video pin, and attaches to your camera via its standard 1/4"-20 screw. The quick-release plate easily snaps and locks into place on the ball head.

This tripod also includes a fitted, padded carry case with a removable shoulder strap, two heavy-duty zippers, and an interior zipper pocket. A tool clip with two hex wrenches for adjusting the center column and the leg joints is also included. It snaps onto any of the tripod legs for easy access.

Reverse-Folding Legs
The legs fold up 180° so that the ball head is concealed between them. This reduces the overall height of the folded tripod.
Short Column
The long section of the column can be removed, so that the head and short column section can be attached directly to the chassis.
Adjustable Legs
The legs are independently adjustable to 3 leg angles: 24, 55, and 80°.

Comments about Oben AT-3421 Aluminum Tripod With BA-106T Ball Head:

I love the ease of the ball head. The legs are sturdy, for the camera sizes recommended. I love the leg that comes off for a monopod. This is very versatile. I love that it fits in my messenger bag so I can take it wherever I need.

          Great Tripod For The Price!

Comments about Oben AT-3421 Aluminum Tripod With BA-106T Ball Head:

I'm an entry-level photographer and wanted a small, lightweight, and durable tripod for a variety of situations. So far I've used this tripod for product photography and landscapes. I've mounted my Nikon D3200 on it with ease. The mounting plate was a perfect square so it didn't matter which way I attached it to the head. The ball-joint head makes composing quick and easy. I wish there was a separate knob to adjust the rotating axis instead of the one knob that also adjusts the ball-joint. I'd like to be able to rotate my camera without losing my positioning with the ball-joint. But for the price, that'd be my only gripe. Other than that, the twisting leg adjustment makes for easy one-handed operation. The detachable monopod is a great addition, although don't expect it's height to match the full height of the tripod. I'm roughly 5' 7" and the full height of the tripod easily comes to eye level. The monopod requires me to crouch a bit but it's hardly a deal-breaker. The case is a nice, double-zippered nylon bag. Inside you'll find a small zippered pocket to store the shoulder strap, instruction manual, and hex keys. Overall a very good product. Delivery was prompt. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Comments about Oben AT-3421 Aluminum Tripod With BA-106T Ball Head:

The tripod & head are well built. Of course, considering the unit's weight, it is not super rigid. The carrying bag is overkill, being too bulky but also so short the tripod needs to be twisted around from its inverted storage position to its working position. That money would be better spent on the ball head, with a lock for rotation, a lock on the quick release (scary with expensive camera)and better friction control on the ball, which goes from firmly locked to floppy in an instant.

Comments about Oben AT-3421 Aluminum Tripod With BA-106T Ball Head:

Let's be realistic. The Oben AT-3421 Tripod with BA-106T Head isn't my 10lb, steady as a rock tripod I don't carry around because it is too big and too heavy. Neither is it my pocket tripod that weighs a few ounces and sits my camera 4 or 5 inches off the ground or a table. It is light enough and compact enough to carry with my backpack or in my luggage on a hike or trip. It gets my camera off the ground and eye-level to photograph landscapes, people, etc. Got to admit, I don't get too far away from the set-up if there is much wind. I think it will come in handy. It has many positive features you can read for yourself. I might have preferred locks instead of twists. But it ought to do...
