Although I do a lot of photo and video work, I also DJ weddings and private events. I decided that I would start using Pelicans for some of my DJ gear since they are so nice for my photo gear.
The 1560SC has been perfect for my wireless mics, random accessories and for packing just about everything except the speakers, wires and my decks.

The size of this case is perfect. I'm a 5'4" woman and can easily lift this case. Currently it's packed with 3 bees, a vagabond, syncs, reflectors, cords and power strip.

Comments about 1560SC Studio Case (Black):

After a long careful consideration of multiple cases, i was able to narrow my picks down to two cases by different companies. Obviously of the two, i chose the pelican, pelican 1560sc to be exact and with uts sturdiness and warrenty etc. I am overly pleased. The wheels roll great, storage is plenty, and it can be carried on (on select airlines) if necessary. I love it and recommend it.

This case is everything others have said about it. Strong, protective, invinceable. Of all the cases and bags I currently own, I never worry about my equipment getting damaged because of lapses in manufacture or workmanship.. First quality materialsall the way. A bit expensive, but well worth the investment.

It's a sold travel case and meets carry on requirements! I have nothing bad to say about the 1560 whatsoever. However :) I find myself quickly outgrowing it, but then it would't be a carry on anymore so it's a tradeoff.

Great case that I highly recommend.

                Thanks Paul

This case was everything I thought it would be and is a true testament to Pelican's quality. I safely store my Nikon D800 and all of the assorted accouterment in the perfectly customizable, padded compartments.

In case there is any confusion, the case comes with the padded insert and the multi-pocketed attachment to the inside of the top as depicted; for some reason I thought it didn't come with it and I unnecessarily ordered the padded insert separately.

Comments about 1560SC Studio Case (Black):

This is my fifth Pelican case, and it certainly won't be my last. I bought it for my new video camera rig, and I'm positive it will protect the contents for years to come.My only small complaint is with the two small accessory pouches in the lid. Their horizontal zippers are placed in the center of the pouch, so when the lid is open and you unzip the pouch, small contents tend to spill out on top of the gear in the case. (See images.) I wish the pouches had been designed like those in the 1519 Lid Organizer for the 1510, on which the zippers are placed at the topmost corners. That being said, the 1560SC exceeded my expectations, which is why, in spite of my complaint, I'm still giving it a 5-star review. Granted, it's larger size means you can't use it as a carry-on. But at only $30.00 more than the 1510SC carry-on, and as long as you don't fly or mind checking it when you do, the 1560SC is a great value.

Comments about 1560SC Studio Case (Black):

As a photographer with a case of G.A.S. (gear acquisition syndrome), I have collected more and more equipment over the years. Primarily a landscape photographer, I have used a photography backpack that is great but not adequate except of course when hiking to a shoot location. When not hiking, I misplace things, can't get to them as quickly and conveniently as I would like, and, though it is a fairly big pack, just can't seem to fit everything I want to take with the pack alone. The 1560 Studio case holds everything I use for landscape shooting expeditions, except for my large tripod which I transport on the back floor of my vehicle. No problen as the feet of my tripod often collect sand, mud, and "other substances" in the places I shoot.

Two camera bodies, 6 lenses including a long Canon 400mm L 5.6, batteries, filters, tools, a Hoodman loop and crane, a grip, poncho, cleaning accessories, and more fit just fine! Additionally, I could also fit my big 17" workstation laptop in the lid if I wanted to. When not carrying the laptop, the sleeve would be great for maps, agendas, information, and/or a few books or travel guides stowed there.

I've gone shooting with it a couple of times and love it so far. I am less likely now to misplace or lose items and feel much more organized. The case's size and packed weight would make it not so practical to lug down a trail more than a couple hundred yards (unless paved since it has wheels). But, that's where my old backpack or smaller camera cases come in... I will take them along as well, either empty or with food and drink, rain gear, etc for the trail. When I park at a trail head, I will pack the backpack with only the items I anticipate using at that location and hike with the pack leaving the unneeded items (and their weight) in the Pelican case in my vehicle. Further, I can lock the case lid, lock the case to my truck with a cable lock ... say through the handle(s) of the Pelican case to the backseat of my truck, and then lock my truck. I'm not OCD. Really. But I have wondered a few times on a trail whether my vehicle might have been broken into or not. And, I have had things stolen in the past. Yes, a theif could still rip me off. But, I'm gonna make them work hard for it if they do!

Perhaps the only negative, and I knew this when purchsing, is that apparently, the case is a little too big to carry onto a plane. But, I am glad I got this case instead of the smaller one (1510)...everything I typically need wouldn't fit if I had. When flying I will probably use the case as a checked suitcase for clothes and take my expensive gear in a pack/bag onto the plane with me. Then, when I arrive, I will exchange the contents and be ready to shoot/travel via rental car.

The latches, wheels, dividers, and everything seems to be heavy duty and of high quality. Some have complained about this case being heavy but I don't see how it could be any lighter and do what it does. Some say it is expensive, but I don't see how it could be cheaper without also being of inferior, unacceptable quality.

The only real negative, so far as I can see, is that I didn't get this great case a long time ago! Superb product!

This product was on back order for a while. I really wanted it because the color was more interesting than normal black. The amount of dividers is great. I can fit nearly all the gear I've ever purchased inside the case! (minus support and lighting of course) It's strong, durable, reliable and holds EVERYTHING I need. It does get very heavy, but it has wheels and will roll so thats great. I can even use it as a low bench if I need to take a seat! ha

First hard case I've owned for storing my equipment. Getting ready to go on a car trip with my equipment. I can fit 2 camera bodies, 2 long lenses, 4 short lenses, all my filters. fits all my stuff nicely. I configured the inside to where I wanted my stuff so it was easy to get to. The case is a little heave. I have the extended arm that comes out if I need to roll the case. Nice feather.
