Strap your full-sized tripod to the top, next to the carry handle with the provided straps. Vanguard also includes a handy accessory pouch that attaches to the side for small items like batteries, lens cloths, cell phone or similar sized item.

The bag is made from a molded, semi-solid exterior of durable polyester and bolstered by a reinforced, anti-scratch, moisture-resistant bottom with protective feet to protect it when placed on a wet surface. Strong zippers with pull tabs make access easy even if you're wearing gloves. The inside is fully customizable with its padded dividers with hook and loop fasteners. A wide variety of pockets, both inside and outside, are provided to hold your media cards and other small accessories. Inside the top flap, there's a zippered mesh pocket for media cards, lens caps and filters. The front contains another zippered pocket for anything from keys to maps or personal items. The outside also features a hang system for attaching pouches and lens cases.

The Xcenior 30 comes with three secure points on top that assure your gear remains within the case. Strong zippers guard access to the contents and various pockets. The bag is carried by its removable, adjustable, anti-slip shoulder strap or the t-shaped top carry handle. For even more convenience, the bag comes with a handy trolley sleeve on the back that will allow you to secure the Xcenior 30 over your optional luggage cart. No more battling through parking lots or struggling up ramps. Finally, when the weather turns against you, there's a rain cover that will cover the entire bag. Comments about Vanguard Xcenior 30 Shoulder Bag (Black):

I purchased this bag as a general travel bag for my photography equipment. I am very pleased with the quality and functionality of the bag. Suitable for use as aircraft carry on, I can safely carry my full frame DSLR, 3 lenses and ancillary equipment with ease - including my Lee Filter kit. If you intend to carry two cameras, I would recommend the next size bag.

Comments about Vanguard Xcenior 30 Shoulder Bag (Black):

First I want to say that I own/have owned a number of hi quality bags including: Think Tank Retrospective 10, Crumpler 6 Million Dollar Home, Tenba Messenger and Kata.
In planning my 2 week, multi-city China trip, I felt that I wanted/needed a very sturdy protective bag that was better than what I had.

                  What I was carrying:
                  Nikon D7100
                  Sigma 17-70 2.8 - 4 (my walk around)
                  Nikon 80 - 200 2.8 2 Ring
                  Rokinon 14mm
                  Kenko 1.4 tele-converter
                  Nikon SB600
Accessories: Polorizer filter, Cable shutter release, battery charger, cards.

So in doing a ton of research, I found this bag and after 2 weeks in China here is what I thought...

                  Positives:
                  1. Great protection and built like a tank. At no time did I worry that my gear was going to be hurt.
                  2. Tons of organization and ways to orient the internal deviders to prevent gear from banging into itself (unlike Think Tank). The zippered internal and external pockets also allowed for me to securely carry my wallet, passport, other paper work, broschoures obtained...
                  3. Very comfortable well padded strap with an extra neck flap. I had a lot of gear and that coupled with the weight of the bag itself (about 4 pounds) was comfortable for hours of carry.
                  4. Security. This bag has 3 different lock-ups. However for when quicker access is needed one can minimize these.
                  5. Rugged construction. This thing is bomb proof. The hardware, handles, stitching, zippers, ect. are all very well made.

                  Negatives:
                  1. The neck strp while very comfortable, is oriented for a specific side so if you do get a bit of shoulder fatigue, you can't just swap over to the other side without reorienting the strap.
                  2. No velcro silencer on the lid and it always engages. I took a piece of tape to cover the velcro strip to eliminate the velcro engagement. This is okay as there are still 3 other lid secures that are available.
                  3. Looks like a camera bag. This bag is very attractive but it is not stealthy. I had a couple of compliments on the bag with folks saying - hey that is a great looking bag - they knew what it contained.

                  Neutrals:
                  1. Weight. Some may criticize this but the trade is a very well padded, bomb-proof constructed, well organized bag. There are trades.
                  2. Lid design - there could be a bit faster access - the trade is a more secure bag.

Overall this is a great bag for its intended purpose. If you only have little gear and want to do a small walk around with only a lens of two this is probably not the bag for you. If you have a lot of gear and want to do a full day shooting and/or are traveling, this is the bag. I sold my Think Tank - this is a keeper.

Comments about Vanguard Xcenior 30 Shoulder Bag (Black):

I spent a long time trying to find a bag to replace my old trusty. The Xceniro 30 was on my short list for bags that would fit that bill. The bag had to store at least 4 lenses, 1 body, flash, filters, cords, accessories, etc. At the top of the list the bag had to be high quality (i.e. tough and well built), easy to carry and access. As soon as I received the bag and started to use it...I knew I had made the perfect choice. This bag is incredibly well built and intelligently designed. It is not cheap, but the quality is the reason...and it was well worth it. I'll use this bag for many years.
