The D-Link DCS-942L Wireless Day/Night Home Network Camera is a complete monitoring system with a built-in CPU and web server that provides high-quality video for surveillance of your home or business.

With a 1/5" CMOS image sensor, the network camera captures clear images at a resolution up to 640 x 480 at 30 fps. Designed for day/night surveillance, the camera provides excellent color sensitivity and high-quality images for both day and night applications. Along with a built-in IR-cut filter that can be removed automatically at night, this camera is equipped with IR illuminators to capture clear images even in total darkness. This makes the camera suitable for round-the-clock surveillance. In addition, a Passive Infrared (PIR) motion-detection sensor is useful to trigger recordings and send e-mail alerts in occurrence of an event.

The camera supports wireless 802.11n connectivity to offer remote monitoring over the network. You can even watch recorded videos on your mydlink-enabled devices such as iPhone, iPad or Android smartphones to keep an eye on your home or office premises when you’re away.

The IP camera includes the D-ViewCam software that allows you to manage up to 32 network cameras, send e-mail alert notifications, set recording schedules, and trigger motion detection to record directly to your hard drive. Apart from this, the software can also be used to upload your business floor plan and create a layout of the exact locations of your cameras, thereby simplifying camera management.

Comments about D-Link DCS-942L Wireless Day/Night Home Network Camera:

No complaints with B&H... Ease of placing order and the ability to track shipping were outstanding... Dlink camera is OK... Maybe if you have all Dlink equipment it might be easier to set up... But if you don't... It is a difficult proccess... Getting infomation from the Dlink website was like pulling teeth without novacane... Dlink's software not so great... Neither is their email notification system... I finally got it up and running... But if you don't know how access your devices through the web browser... You might look at another brand...

Comments about D-Link DCS-942L Wireless Day/Night Home Network Camera:

Good item and good quality. Easy to set-up. Only issues it that it uses Java and for security purposes I just don't like to use it. I think that is common for many users.

Comments about D-Link DCS-942L Wireless Day/Night Home Network Camera:

Everything is well thought out about this camera except setting it up on a wireless network. If you can use the auto configure mode it might be great, but if your router doesn't support this-good luck"! I'm just lucky to have a network engineer for a son. Once it works, it's excellent.
