              Comments about Midland GXT2050VP4 22-Channel 2-Way Radios:

I had read about this problem before I chose this radio for purchase. But, I liked the rechargeable LiIon batteries and the problem seemed rare. When I press transmit, it works for 1-2 sec's or less, then the radio dies for 1-2 secs and resets. So, it never transmits anything. This is 100% consistent unless I put in AA batteries, then it works fine. Midland sent me fresh batteries, then told me to send in the radios - at MY expense. Imagine selling someone a broken product and then having to pay $12 to send it to them to be fixed!

                Comments about Midland GXT2050VP4 22-Channel 2-Way Radios:

This product is great once you get past the issues in manufacture with the new Lithium Polymer Batteries.
The trick to making these work is to scratch the connections down removing the lacquer so that the batteries can contact correctly with the poles. once you do this with some sandpaper or the edge of a flat-head screwdriver they work like a champ.

Midland are aware of the issue with the batteries on these units and if you send the units back that's all they will do and then return them, so save yourself time and do it yourself.

Easy to operate, great clear sound quality and features.

This is the best 2 way GPRS/FRS radio on the market hands down.

Bought 6 radios, for our family emergency go-bags. Tested and tried, love them. With emergencies like what is going on in Oklahoma, and else where in the US, we want to be prepared to be able to communicate with family, when disaster strikes! And this is what we will use.
