The black Samsung 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS Compact Zoom Lens is a standard-length zoom lens that provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 27.7-84.7mm, covering wide-angle to portrait-length perspectives to suit working in a wide variety of shooting situations. It supports the intuitive and efficient i-Function control, which allows you to control many of the camera's manual settings simply by pressing the i-Function button and rotating the lens ring. The settings adjustments can be previewed in real time and modified at any time during shooting.
The lens' design also incorporates optical image stabilization (OIS) to help reduce the appearance of camera shake to produce sharper imagery when working in low-light conditions or with greater zoom magnifications. Additionally, one aspherical element is integrated into the optical construction to help alleviate chromatic aberrations and produce imagery with greater overall sharpness and color neutrality.

I just got this for my NX100, which came with the also very good 20-50mm lens. However, the 20-50mm does not have IS built in, so I've had some issues with sharp results at lower shutter speeds. This new 18-55mm with IS has helped me a few times already, and I don't see any loss in image quality between it and the original 20-50mm. The 18-55mm also comes with a reversible lens hood, which the 20-50mm does not have. Another plus for the 18-55mm is it has a 58mm filter thread, instead of the strange 40.5mm threads on the 20-50mm. I'm happy with this purchase so far, and look forward to better weather so I can use it even more.

This lens is pretty much a must have for the samsung nx camera line. The optical image stabilization is a great feature, and it is an internal focus lens wich makes it a quieter, and much stronger lens than the stock 20-50 lens that came with my nx1000. All around one of my favorite overall lenses to use.

I use this lens for everthing that do not need a big zoom. This lens is capable doing everything, from macro to portrait pass by landscape. The images are clean and beautiful. Seriously, i love this lens.
