The Chimera LED Lightbank for Flolight 1x1' is an ingenious way to soften the output of your Flolight 1x1' while controlling the light beam. A soft but directional source is the field of lighting's Holy Grail. Previously, only expensive fabric grids or cumbersome metal grids got the job done but with the introduction of the "Lens Screen" for the LED Lightbank gives you beam angle control built right into the front face. The standard package comes with a 30 degree screen that absorbs 0.9 stops of light but there are also 5 degree and 3 x 30 degree options that absorb 0.1 and 0.7 stops respectively. The Chimera LED Lightbank is further proof that you can trust Chimera to think out of the box.

I shoot corporate video and travel across the country so I have a lightweight, and easy to set up Flolight LED kit. One of the challenges of the Flolight 1x1 is that it is one of the brightest LED lights on the market, which has it's benefits, but it's too harsh of a light for interviews.
The Chimera LED Lightbank turns the Flolight 1x1 into a much softer and broader light. It also provides a much more pleasant experience for the interview subjects.
I have experimented with using frost and spun filters on the Flolight 1x1 and I can get a similar light output, but the Chimera Lightbank makes that same light softer and broader.
ONE CAUTION - This is not the same quality as the traditional Chimera Lightbank. But then again, it's also made for a very different light source than traditional Tungsten open faced lights.
For my needs this is a good tool creating a much better picture.

professional video and photography. I expect shadowless lighting from a chimera. You don't get that with this. The front diffusion you get from Chimera is just frost. I put velcro on some full grid cloth. The grid cloth is much softer than the chimera front. The fourth stick does not go in the hole very well. You light source does not get bigger. The other chimeras i have bought had cases that came with. This one does not! Hey CHIMERA go back to the drawing board and when you come up with something better you should send me a new one for free! worst $ dollars i spend.
