The Commando 25 DSLR Shoulder Bag from Ruggard is slightly larger than the Commando 15 and sized to hold your small DSLR with kit lens. Two removable dividers allow you to configure the interior to suit your gear needs.

The exterior is water-repellent 600D high-density Oxford nylon complemented by a smooth 150D polyester lining designed not to scratch your equipment. The bag is covered by a quick-release front flap and an additional zippered lid. This provides two ways to access your gear. If you don't want to zipper the interior lid, its touch fastener attaches to the cover flap allowing you to use just the front quick-release buckle.

For storage, there's a front zippered organizer pocket that contains seven slip-in pockets for small items such as pens as well as a touch fastened memory card pocket. In addition, there's a zippered mesh pocket under the lid, one airline-style mesh side pocket and a side loop that will accept an optional pouch.

All the bag's zippers feature a yellow pull tab for ease of use while wearing gloves. The Commando 25 is carried by its adjustable, removable shoulder strap that connects to plastic D-rings. A top carry handle and rear trolley sleeve offer you additional carrying options. At only 18.8 oz, this is a lightweight shoulder bag designed to carry your small DSLR/lens combination.

I use this bag for my Canon Rebel t3i with the 18-135 lens. It fits perfectly with the lens still attached. It protects the camera amazingly! Has a really nice side pocket for extra batteries or the charger or anything and a really big front pocket in which I put a remote, charger and chords. The zippers work very smoothly. There isn't anything not great about this bag.

B&H was throwing this bag in with the Nikon D5300 with 18-140 lens. The camera and lens fit the main compartment with plenty of room, but it is too small to carry a second lens, even with the 18-55 kit lens on the camera. Single zippered front pouch has a variety of pockets and a zippered internal fishnet pocket. Again, this is probably adequate for extra memory cards, a spare battery and charger, a few filters, etc., but not enough for a larger accessory.

Construction seems robust, with ample internal padding. The case has a zippered top AND a fold-down front flap with "nail-buster" clasp. There is no additional storage afforded by the flap. Personally, I find this arrangement of little practical value. I would rather zip the top and know the contents aren't going to spill, rather than fumble with the clasp, or forget to click it. However, it IS necessary to fumble with the flap to get at the zipper.

In summary, it's a solid case for walk-about photography with one camera and an attached zoom lens up to maybe 200-250mm, plus a few small accessories. If you have multiple lenses or any large accessory, the case probably won't suffice.

For the right gear, it should be adequate provided the flapped top is your thing. I gave it 3 stars because I will probably use it to store photo gear I use occasionally.

Comments about Ruggard Commando 25 DSLR Shoulder Bag:

Got this free with the camera I purchased and is probably better than what I would have bought. Has enough room to keep camera, lens, and two telescope adapters to connect my camera to my telescope.

Good quality and workmanship. It's just barely big enough for OMD EM1 with 14-150 Zuiko mounted plus 17 1.8, 2 lens hoods, odds and ends. I might choose something a bit larger next time to simplify putting camera in and moving on.

Comments about Ruggard Commando 25 DSLR Shoulder Bag:

This bag came with the camera I bought. It is rugged and durable. I am already out of room. So my next upgrade will also have to include the cost of a new bag. But it was free, so I can't complain.

It hold my Nikon D5300, kit lens (18-140mm), all the accessories that came with the camera and a 50mm prime lens nicely. All in all a good bag for what it is.

Comments about Ruggard Commando 25 DSLR Shoulder Bag:

I purchased this bag along with a Canon T5i kit, along with an SD card. The camera and lens with well with in the bag. Plenty of padding and has a front pouch for extra accessories. It is great for someone who doesn't need/have a lot to carry. On the other hand if you have more than one lens and want to carry them in the same bag this is not the bag for you. Simply not enough room for two lens' and a camera at the same time.

I use this to store extra gear at home, but do not use this type bag when I am out taking photos. I did not pay for the bag. It came as a "bonus" item when I bought a new camera.

It seems well made, but if I start to get a lot of accessories for my camera, there won't be a lot of space in this bag and I'll probably have to get a different one.

While this appears to be a well made bag, it does not allow for a NIKON D3200 DSLR camera comfortably fit. I had another much smaller camera that is a good fit for this bag. I do senior pictures, car shows, Motocross, Racing, special events and general portraiture. This bag came with my Nikon and does not fit it and the additional gear that I use. I seriously doubt that any DSLR camera will fit.

Comments about Ruggard Commando 25 DSLR Shoulder Bag:

When I purchased my Nikon D5300 this past July, the Commando 25 DSLR came as part of the bundle purchase. I've been using it for over a month and I have little to no complaints. Being that I only have one lens, it fits my needs. The bag will safely and comfortable hold my Nikon D5300 body, and the 18-140 Kit lens. Additionally it has zipper pockets that will hold, my charger, RGB tv connector, and HDMI to tv connector. It's a great little bag for travel that will carry the necessities for those whoa are fine with carrying around one lens. A zipper closes all the compartmental places and the clip-in over flap is a nice added protection from rain.

For those looking for a sleek bag that will rest naturally on your torso, this isn't for you. When fully packed, it's essentially a box that will just sit on your hip as you put the shoulder strap across one side of your body. Also, for those needing to carry more than one lens, you are out of luck.

To conclude, this is a great starter bag / vacation bag, but as you grow as a photographer, I'd expect you'd want something that holds at least two lenses and is more mobile friendly when on foot for longer periods of time.

It came free for buying a Nikon D5300 so I thought its quality was not so good, but when it got home it amazed me. Its a really good bag worth buying if you don't have big lenses because with the Nikon 18-140mm mounted on the D5300 it just fits a little exact for my taste. For my new light backpacking setup is perfect (a Nikon D5300 with a Nikon 18-140mm, a Nikon 40mm f/2.8, and a UV and polirizer filters).

Recommend it if you don't have or (as in my case) you want to be as light and not carry to much stuff when doing "backpacking photography"
