Copilot's high sync speed does NOT work properly with Nikon D700 or D800 and my Trio. There's is significant banding above 1/400. I understand how Quantum's HSS works because I own the Pilot and everything works fine. I posted about Copilot's HSS not working on Quantum forum and received no solution from Quantum. I own over $3000 in Quantum products and this Copilot will be my last purchase! :(

Comments about Quantum Instruments CoPilot Wireless TTL Flash Controller for Nikon:

It's a great device that has now replaced my 30' TTL cable which I always worried that someone would either trip over or step on. The CoPilot saves me setup time and it makes it very easy to adjust the brightness or power of my Quantum flash. Buy a backup battery since the no-name battery they included may not last very long.

Comments about Quantum Instruments CoPilot Wireless TTL Flash Controller for Nikon:

It works perfectly fine for me. Its a great product, I had to update my trio firmware since the trio I have is almost two years old but it was no big deal, it took me probably 2 minutes at my house to update the firmware, quantum guy's are great if you need help with these firmware updates. You don't have to send trio or T-5DR to quantum for updates. Works awesome. I am a wedding photographer, I set up my two trio on each corner of the venue, use my OM3 ring light along with CO-Pilot and it gives me amazing result in the dark venue in and the night weddings. Very happy with this product and works flawlessly with Trio and T-5DR. Not to mention have pretty much complete control of TRIO's & T5DR wirelessly. I am getting the second one so I can control this from my second camera.

In most of the cases this product WONT WORK OUT OF THE BOX. You will need to send your Qflashes for firmware update back to QUANTUM! In some cases you will have to pay for it...! By the other hand you must update your Copilot firmware online. PLEASE CHECK QUANTUM WEBSITE FOR MORE INFO.

If you live abroad the US don't even think taking the risk of buying it because you'll be probably asked to send your Qflashes for firmware update.

B&H shipped very quickly to New Zealand.

Turn the trio into a stand alone flash!!; with the co-pilot I can use the X5dR as the main - and the Trio off to the side (off the camera) as the fill. Really turns the Trio into a much more useful tool. The Trio now can go on a stand, or in someone's hand. Possibilities are endless. Great price also.
