The Canon EOS Rebel T4i Digital Camera (Body Only) is an ideal camera for any level photographer; combining both high quality imaging power and a wealth of functions that enable you to create beautiful imagery with ease. This 18.0 megapixel DSLR features an APS-C-sized CMOS sensor and a DIGIC 5 image processor for fast operation and tremendous low light performance to an expanded ISO of 25600. A quickened 5.0 fps continuous shooting ability and fast 9-point cross-type AF system are also supported by the performance of the DIGIC 5 processor. This combination of technologies also results in tremendous image quality with smooth color gradations and clarity for both images and videos.
Full HD 1080p video is supported and features a full-time Movie Servo AF system for continuous auto focusing while using live view to record movies. When using one of Canon's STM lenses, ultra-quiet and smooth performance is possible for fluid HD movie making. Additionally full manual sound and exposure control is supported, giving you a wide range of controls for handling your videos. For monitoring of videos and still imaging, a 3.0" Vari-angle touch screen LCD is incorporated and flips out and tilts for viewing from a wide variety of angles. The touch screen operation is highly intuitive and even allows you to control your focus points from the LCD.
The Scene Intelligent Auto Mode combines the essential auto modes with an intelligent EOS Scene Detection System to quickly and automatically determine the situation type you are working in and apply the necessary adjustments to render the scene correctly. Once the image has been captured, it will also apply enhancing techniques in order to improve skin tones and overall image coloration. Other creative modes include an HDR Backlight Control mode for improving the effective exposure value range of your image; a Handheld Night Scene mode which utilizes multi shot noise reduction techniques to give you improved low-light performance without the noise of high ISOs; and seven different creative filters to apply unique effects directly to your images in-camera.
The Rebel T4i is compatible with SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards and Canon's full line of EF and EF-S lenses.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T4i Digital Camera (Body Only):
I had the Rebel from 2007, finally upgraded to the T4i and love it. Touch screen capability is a nice added feature. Higher ISO is also useful, not sure how I lived without it. All in all it seems that the expanded features are easier to use and incredibly helpful, but basically the camera follows the Rebel modes and commands I was accustomed to.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T4i Digital Camera (Body Only):
I was using pentax DSLR camera since several years and decided to move Canon recently. I was looking for Canon 60D at first. But when T4i (650D) became available on the market, I have noticed that its specs good enough to my needs. I am simply using it on my travels. It has a touch screen LCD which is very useful. The only think that I did not like is the button locations on the camera and lack of top LCD. I had this top LCD on my entry level old Pentax K110, and Pentax had better button ergonomy. However, I will get used to live with that. Canon T4i (650D) has an excellent high ISO performance which I really loved. I am using my camera with 18-135STM and 40mm STM lenses which is ideal combination for travellers. May be I can purchase a wide angle lens soon. I strongly advice this camera to who is looking for an affordable camera. I purchased Vello battery grip and a backup Canon battery, which has still power after taking 2500 photos, amazing! By the way, Vello battery grip quality is excellent1 Its buttons and dial quality is better than Canon's. Its video capabilities are very good! It has stereo mics. It may focus slowly in low light situation. This is the only negative point while using it as a video camera.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T4i Digital Camera (Body Only):
90 percent of my photos are of birds using Cannon 100-400 mm lens. Works great with this cammera. I do turn of the 9 AF point focus and go to single AF point. This works great on birds so you don't focus on a leaf or branch in front of the bird. I leave the P (program) mode set like this so I can easily go back to auto for other types of photography. I am experimenting with high ASA shots of stars at night. This camera can really shoot very high ASA without loosing image quality. It took me a while to use the video. I purchased this for still shots. but once I used the video I have been very impressed. The HD video is really good and looks good straight off the camera with out any editing. Also I love the HDMI output. I purchased the mini HDMI cable and can view on the large screen TV straight from the camera and use this very often. The pictures are better quality and truer color than my old 40D. You don't have to do as much editing and many photos I can hardly improve. One con is Cannon changed the battery style. I can not use my old 40D batteries and the new ones do not last as long.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T4i Digital Camera (Body Only):
Having used a T2i for a year and then a T3i for another year, I wasn't sure what to expect as the biggest bonus from the 2 to the 3 was a flip out LCD (a must have for video). So I was a little skeptical when I received the T4i.
While the quality of the image hasn't changed much I have found the autofocus with the STM lens to be much fast and much much smoother. I bought the T4i so I could get continuous AF while shooting video, which looks like it will have limited use after all, but I wasn't expecting the touchscreen to be such a huge boon! Far more user friendly and faster than the old push buttons and scroll.
While the continuous AF during video is useful if you have some movement and can't keep your hand on the lens at all times, it also has a difficult time focusing quickly and you will literally have it search for 3 or 4 seconds at a time. I would never use the AF for filming a critical video shoot anyway, but for home and documentary style shoots (which I primarily wanted the AF for) it will still have limited use.
All in all though, it is a worthy upgrade from the T2i or T3i.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T4i Digital Camera (Body Only):
I bought this camera last month because I make films, and I had heard from colleagues that this brand was a good choice. When I got the camera and tested it out with some practice photos and video, everything worked great. It took me a while to figure out how to do manual exposure, but after consulting the actually very informative manual, I was able to do it. The image quality of the pictures I took was fantastic, with little to no grain whatsoever. The same was true of the video. This was until I started using some higher ISO values, at which point some degradation of quality occurred. Generally I film with lights, so this is not an issue. Outdoor photography and video is superb. All in all, I have little to no complaints with this product and am looking forward to using this camera in the future.
