Comments about Viewsonic Pro8300 HD/DLP Projector:
I purchased the viewsonic projector to use for outdoor movies. Since my children are still young I knew I couldn't wait until 8pm when it was dark to start a movie. I needed to buy a projector with high lumens in order to start playing movies at dusk. The 3000 lumens does not disappoint when competing with the sun. Although dimmed slightly during the departing sunlight, it wasn't a struggle to view the picture. In full darkness the picture quality is amazing it was super bright, almost to the point where I thought the neighbors might complain. My screen was 12ft wide and I have no doubt the image could stretch much much larger without losing quality. So far I don't really see a downside. I can't give reviews for the speaker because I use the projector out doors with a professional system, but for movies I wouldn't imagine it to be ideal for sound quality. Great quality for the amount, a purchase "win" in my book.

Comments about Viewsonic Pro8300 HD/DLP Projector:
I was looking for a projector that I could use with my computer for work at home and also use it for TV viewing & DVD playing. So sharpness of lettering was real important when using Windows 8 and responding to mail. At the same time I wanted a rich and deep viewing experience watching movies.
I don't know about you, the guys or gals who write articles about products must not be writing about the product I have received. They make them sound so terrific and when you get them they are anything but. I have sent two projectors back.
I want to thank the staff at B&H for giving me good advance and setting me straight on some things.
The Viewsonic Pro8300 met all my needs. It was easy to hook up to my receiver. I used all hdmi cables to get the best viewing. The remote gives you tons of access to color adjustments. It is easy for me to move between my computer, TV, receiver for music and DVD player.
Watching Avatar with all its hues of color was great.
Downside - no 3D. But maybe that's not so bad. By the time I need another projector - they will have perfected it.

Comments about Viewsonic Pro8300 HD/DLP Projector:
Very happy with my ViewSonic Pro 8300. I use it for Xbox and watching movies and it works great. I think it's one of the best values out there for a full 1080P projector. Havent had any problems or complaints with it. B&H was great to work with and kept me informed about the shipping status (it was backordered when I ordered mine).

Comments about Viewsonic Pro8300 HD/DLP Projector:
Although listed as a 'business' unit, I am using for Home Theater. The 3000 Lumens is great for projecting even in ambiant light. I previously had a SVGA project, so the full 1080 HD now using a HDMI cord, is very impressive. No problems with audio synch, set up is very straight forward. Currently (Jan 2013) this is on sale, so about $ more than the PRO8200. For the difference (3000 vs. 2000) in lumens, well worth it

Comments about Viewsonic Pro8300 HD/DLP Projector:
I was looking for a 1080p projector with decent light output and a reasonably short throw without breaking the bank. This projector filled my needs. It does not have as many features as more expensive models but I can live without those. It provides reasonably decent still photo and video output. I usually use it for family gatherings. Mostly I use it connected to my laptop via HDMI.
