The TRENDnet Megapixel Day / Night Indoor PoE Camera captures real-time high-quality videos that can be remotely accessed via the Internet. Its 1/4" CMOS sensor delivers high-quality images at a resolution up to 1280 x 800.

Designed for Day/Night surveillance, the camera produces clear images even in locations with a minimum illumination of 0 lux at f/1.5. It also delivers clear and bright images up to 24.60’ (7.5 m) in darkness. The latest H.264 compression technology used by this camera allows you to efficiently utilize your network, even with the highest-quality video.

On detecting any motion in the vicinity, the camera generates alarm triggers via e-mail and uploads the video or images straight to an FTP server. The recorded footage can be stored on a microSD card, which can later be viewed on your smartphone or on the Samba network drive. The built-in microphone lets you communicate with visitors or potential intruders.

The camera is powered via the network itself, without any extra wiring for auxiliary power outlets. Easy-to-install, this camera can be set up in a jiffy. Depending on your needs, you can mount the camera on a wall or ceiling using the included hardware.

Comments about Trendnet Megapixel Day / Night Indoor PoE Camera:

This is the second Trendnet camera I bought (the first one was TV-IP751wc).
I bought this because this camera is advertised as HD (megapixel). I found out that Megapixel wasn't necessary. Yes, the resolution is higher than VGA but nowhere near HD quality because camera can not perform well at low light. This is most likely due to size of the image sensor. To get a crisp image, you need to dump lots of light into the room you set this camera in.
There is also more than a second delay in HD mode. So I stopped using the HD mode all together. I am only using the VGA mode which is why I say Megapixel isn't necessary. VGA mode is more than enough.
Camera has a night vision which works very well even at zero lighting conditions (with IR lights).
This camera firmware gives you many parameters to tweak motion capture and emailing. You can set how many image need to be captured and sent via email. You can also store image and video into micro sdcard. It has a micro sd slot. Very nice feature if you do not want to set up email alert.
It has 2-way audio but I didn't get a chance to test it because it needs external speakers to work.
Like the other camera (TV-IP751wc) I have, this camera has a narrow field of view. It will not cover the entire room unless you retrofit some wide angle lens on it. Trendnet does not make lens adapters; very unfortunate!..
Customer service: I almost got no service for this camera because I called more than a few times for my other camera TV-IP751wc. Whenever I called to get help for this camera, they said someone would get back to me and they never did. They can't tell you "We cannot help you." over the phone. Instead they lie to you!..
I had to learn everything from setting up the camera to port-forwarding and using SecurviewPro software all by myself. Kind of cheap customer service they have there...
This camera is NOT a cloud camera so it will require some advanced knowledge to set up.
Bottom line, do NOT buy this camera if you are looking for HD quality image/video and you don't have much networking knowledge. You will be disappointed. Buy a similar model with VGA resolution. It will be more than enough and you will save money.

It was very simple to set up the hardware, good quality image. The software could be a little easier to use, but seems to have a lot of functionality once you figure it out.

Comments about Trendnet Megapixel Day / Night Indoor PoE Camera:

Super simple to install over PoE. I just wish the software was able to run on Mac OSX. Instead I'm running the software in a virtual environment of Windows 7. The software itself is really great and easy to use. The camera comes with a bracket so it can be used on a tabletop or hung from a ceiling/wall and can swivel/tilt in almost any direction. Over a Gigabit LAN the video feed is extremely crisp (both day and night) and has less than a one second delay. So much better than the comparable Logitech Alert series.
