Product Highlights
  • 2-Stop Graduated ND Filter
  • Reduce Exposure in Selective Areas
  • High Quality Optical Resin
  • Compatible with LEE Standard Holder

The LEE Filters 100 x 150mm 0.6 Soft-Edge Graduated Neutral Density Filter helps to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged line of transition between the density and clear areas. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and the 0.6 density provides a 2 stop reduction in light from entering the lens.

This filter is constructed from a high quality optical resin for both imaging performance and durability. This filter measures 3.9 x 5.9" / 100 x 150mm and is compatible with the LEE Standard Filter Holder.

These are the only nd grads to not have any color shifts when stacked with full grads or additional nd grads. I shoot medium format film (mamiya 7ii) and velvia 50, and have not noticed any color shifts in a bunch of different lighting situations. The lee filter holder system really nice too. I read the reviews saying that other photographers thought this plastic filter might scratch easily, but I'm pretty careful with my gear, so I didn't worry about it too much. But I didn't use the holder for it, just held it front of my camera. Guess what? It scratches easily. After a single trip, it's nowhere near new condition. I liked the effect I got using it, but I'm guess it'll have a limited lifespan.

      Filter with a nice edge

Comments about LEE Filters 100 x 150mm 0.6 Soft-Edge Graduated Neutral Density Filter:

Very good quality with little to no color shift. Very nice graduated transition for landscape with diverse backgrounds. Exspensive but worth it. Why would you compromise your expensive lense with something of low quality? I use this frequently with my lee big stopper and little stopper.

Comments about LEE Filters 100 x 150mm 0.6 Soft-Edge Graduated Neutral Density Filter:

Living on the Oregon Coast, I shoot a lot of seascapes, landscapes and sunsets over the ocean. If you shoot these kinds of photos, there will be times when you need to control the light. If you can only carry or afford one filter, the 100 x 150mm 0.6 Soft-Edge Graduated Neutral Density Filter by LEE Filters should be the one. It will be the most useful filter for general landscape photography. This LEE filter is excellent quality, even though it's made from C39 resin. Also, it comes in great Cordura Pouch that some other filter manufacturers don't include with their filters. The pouch does a great job of protecting your filter at all times. Beware that many of these 4X6 filters are not always in stock and may take several weeks to come from the overseas manufacturer.

Comments about LEE Filters 100 x 150mm 0.6 Soft-Edge Graduated Neutral Density Filter:

I spent the past few months saving up for a LEE kit and while doing so also debating if it was worth it in the end. Let me tell you it has made a huge difference in MOST of the situations I have used them so far. For MOST situations I no more have to bracket my shots and combine them in post (a huge pain when i'd rather just focus on shooting). I bought the foundation kit, WA adapter, filter wrap and a .9 ND Hard to get started in building a kit. It's a cinch to screw the adapter on and then to lock the filter holder in place. I recommend to put the filter in the holder FIRST and then move it to where needed. Places that these filters don't always work would be in the woods with trees all around trying to get the drastic sky from a sunset but for everything else I find they work just as advertised. I'll be ordering when I save up some more money the polarizer and attachment and I feel my kit is complete. If you're holding off on buying these because of the prices, let me tell you that it's worth it. In the long run would you rather spend 400$ on 3rd party brands and then go to LEE the king of filters or just spend the 400$ and make the images you've wanted all along without the headaches of spending 3x the amount in the end? I'm not paid by LEE at all i'm just a happy customer.

This is a great investment for the landscape or real estate/architecture photographer. Allow you to retain detail in your highlights (i.e. sky) while maintaining a good basic exposure for mid tones and shadows. Lee Filters make an excellent "filter system."

I was surprised how light it is and am contemplating exchanging for a .9 filter. All my test shots were on semi overcast days and so the subtle effect worked well. The band of softness where the dark meets the light is wider than expected too, now I see on other brands some have a tighter gradiant and this might also be why the filter seems so light. None of this is bad and in the riht situation this is what you want, I just understand more now why all the discussion on the net of .6 versus .9 filters.

Used it for photos at the Grand Canyon and it made a big difference in the quality of my shots. Made the blue sky a nice blue color while preserving the depth of color of the canyon. Very easy to adjust just the right amount of gradient by sliding it up and down.

I recently bought this filer and used it for the first time hiking in the Teton Mtn. Range. While backpacking I put on the holder and filter and was successful removing the "over exposed" sky. I know that some software has the ability to use gradient filters and I do use them but frankly this is much better and gives you immediate gratification. I plan on buying more.

So I got this to use with my Mamiya RB67 medium format camera. I was using it with a 65mm lens (which is wide angle for medium format), and the soft edge was a little too soft for that focal length. I think for that focal length I would need a hard edge transition. I havent used it with any other cameras yet, but so far it is a nice filter and well made, just not suited for the lens I had paired with it.

Comments about LEE Filters 100 x 150mm 0.6 Soft-Edge Graduated Neutral Density Filter:

This is a decent filter. I am using it with the Canon 14mm lens. The size is just big enough to cover the lens and would be easier to work with if it was larger. The soft edge produces very nice results. I am using it for architectural photography and it does a nice job of darkening the sky just enough. The 0.6 is just the right amount to tone down bright skys.
I wish it was made of glass as I can see the plastic getting scratched easily. I was very careful and already have smudges on it from the fitst use.

Lee makes a good product and as a landscape photographer I find ND grads essential for controlling highlights found in high contrast scenes. You can stack this filter with a Lee .9 ND grad for up to 5 stops of exposure compensation. Sometimes hard to find but worth every penny.

Great filter, although it does scratch easily as it is not made of glass. No big problem, but that's why I am giving it 4/5.

I have only had this ND grad for a few weeks, but I am very happy with the lend quailty, and the fact that Lee Filters goes the extra step to put it in a truly well made pouch. I am find more uses for filters I expect to be pourchasing yet more Lee products.

Useful for shots with bright sky and darker foregrounds. I prefer the rectangle ones that you can move up and down as needed for the shot. Does not seems to impart any color changes. I just wish the 77mm adapter for the holder would be in stock. For now, I just hand hold it. Only drawback is it seems susceptible to scratches more than glass but it is less expensive. Just have to be careful.

These are the only nd grads to not have any color shifts when stacked with full grads or additional nd grads. I shoot medium format film (mamiya 7ii) and velvia 50, and have not noticed any color shifts in a bunch of different lighting situations. The lee filter holder system really nice too. STEP UP TO LEE!!
