I hesitated strongly for a long time before I purchased this camera bag. Why? Because of the inconsistant reviews written about it. I to enjoy purchasing the finest of thing's as most do,however it is obvious to me that some expect much more for less. The price of this bag was also a decieving point as most other bags demanded much more in money than this bag does.
I finally caved in and purchased it. I was not only surprised how nice and accomidating to my omd em-5 it is but the build and quality it has.
My em-5 has a case that I purchased from Kaza, which enlarges the overall size of the camera, and it slips in between in the middle of the two extra compartments on each side of the camera. (shown in the picture diagram online here)There is really nothing to gripe about here with this bag.It is a really good bag for 4/3 applications.
I am not sorry at all! Go for it!

The bag is made with a thin material and loses it's shape making any compartments you make fold to become in-accessible. It would be large enough if it kept it's shape. It is exactly what you have paid for. I am sure the M10 will be a big seller and quality custom designed bags and cases compatible with the quality of the camera will be offered at 4 times the price and will sell well.

Most annoying feature of the OMD M10 camera is the battery recharger, a box to hold battery with a 6 foot cord that is as heavy as 220V line! Somebody will make a fortune by offering a modern recharger, just a battery holder with hinged AC prongs - no cord at all.

Comments about Olympus Messenger Bag for OM-D/E-M5 (Black/Gray):

Purchased an EM-10 and needed a bag for the camera / lenses / accessories. Decided on this item because it was made by / for Olympus for the OM-D cameras.

Really about the only good thing I can say about this bag is that I can use it to take my 9" iPad along.

The latching mechanism is not positive. The bag is not padded. The configurability of the interior is substandard.

Bag seems well enough built, but was larger than I expected. I just needed a bag for my compact camera and 1-2 lenses, so this was overkill.

Comments about Olympus Messenger Bag for OM-D/E-M5 (Black/Gray):

I just submitted a return merchandise authorization request. What a piece of junk. So much thought was put into the camera and so little thought into the bag. It's an insult to the camera's designers - the Olympus buyers and marketing team should be ashamed of themselves.

The construction is a cotton that I would expect to see on an H&M college student cheapo packsack. It doesn't appear to be waterproof or even very resistant. The buckle in the front is OK, but not particularly easy to manipulate. The bag doesn't hold it's form well - it's sort of mushy.

Contrary to what some of the reviewers say, I found it to be way, way too big in the wrong ways. It's a fairly deep bag, for example, which seems silly to me for a micro 4/3 camera. In fact, I would say it leaves the impression that some Olympus buyer was at a market in China, received an email from his boss telling him to find a bag to be paired with the camera and he turned around and grabbed the first $2 bag he saw (factory price). I'm of course making this up, but perhaps not...

Do not buy this "camera" bag unless you've seen it first...

Comments about Olympus Messenger Bag for OM-D/E-M5 (Black/Gray):

Maybe not as rugged as a small bag in the over $100 price range, but fits the OM-D camera and accessories well. Takes some patience to get the Velcro dividers into place. The liner material, while usable, is not of the same quality as some of the more expensive bags I have used and tends to shift around when installing dividers. The shoulder strap is not removable except for the wrap around pad that it uses.

Comments about Olympus Messenger Bag for OM-D/E-M5 (Black/Gray):

It is the perfect size for the E-M5 with the HLD-6 grip 12-50mm lens. The bag has room for two or more additional lenses, depending on size, and the FL-600 flash without looking overstuffed. The pockets have space for a few filters, extra batteries and cards, and even a table-top tripod. The bag looks good, is easy to carry, and holds just about everything I need to carry. It is mist resistant, but I am not sure it would stand up to a soaking rain.

Comments about Olympus Messenger Bag for OM-D/E-M5 (Black/Gray):

The depth of the bag is just right for the E-M5 with the 14-150mm zoom and lens hood to go in vertically. Two of the dividers can be arranged as a kind of funnel for the lens. The remaining divider can be placed at the other end to make a place for the 600R flash unit with or without its belt pouch case. The remaining space will hold several lenses, including large ones like the 60mm macro and 75-300 tele-zoom although they need to be in bags to keep them from banging into one another. There is ample space for other accessories including the oversize battery charger and its pesky cord. It is still a fairly compact gadget bag. There is a single securing strap with a simple metal hook which goes into a webbing loop. I have mixed feelings about this but it can be worked with one hand and by feel with a little practice, an advantage over the common two-piece plastic catches. I am not sure how secure it will be in use. It should be very durable. The design is not elegant but it appears to be well made for the price. It is fairly soft but well padded.

This bag holds a lot- camera with battery grip (both pieces) and kit lens, 40-200, 45 & 20 lens with hoods plus remote shutter release, battery charger and cord, usb cord, video cord, flash (included), extra SHDC cards and reader, ReallyRightStuff tripod rail and wrench, lenspens, Joby Ultra Sling, and manual (I probably missed something).

Even with all of that, it's light. Build is durable and configurable and compact. A lot of bang for the buck. I usually buy Tenba and this is very much like their Messenger Bag but with out the 3X price tag.

Works well as a travel bag for my OM-D E-M5 with vertical battery grip, kit lens, and two extra lenses as well as accessory items. It was a bit fussy to rearrange the padded partitions because of the clingy bag liner that they attach to but one done they work well enough. Bag looks smart and seems to be made of good materials.

This answers the question of many listserv posters of what bag to get for an OM-D kit. It fits the camera w/2 or 3 lenses, has pockets for accessories, and a user-friendly clip closure without cumbersome, unhandy buckles. Like all satchel-type bags, whether it stands up 'straight' on its own depends on how you array your gear inside. But it is working great for me.

Comments about Olympus Messenger Bag for OM-D/E-M5 (Black/Gray):

Nice size bag and OK (but not exceptional) quality. However, the strap is sewed on and is in no way (short of using a knife) "removeable" as stated above and also stated on the tag that came on the bag. It is certainly not clip-on as shown in the photo. I am not satisfied but am unsure if I will return it - I wanted to use it on a trip next week.

Two compartments for lenses and many small pockets. Good for my use. Room for my digiscoping attachments.

Soft design is unobtrusive and can be easily carried or packed.

Clasp seems a little vunerable to being accidently undone.

A little worried about the way the camera fits in the bottom of the bag leaving the monitor/touchscreen exposed to other objects that might be placed in the bag.

Nothing to get excited about. Wish I had purchased a Lowepro. When hefted with the shoulder strap it is not so bad, but picking it up with the bag handle is not a good thing, as the top is secured only by the center strap. The whole bag sags.
