I utilize this kit in tandem with a few smaller fill lights to shoot narrative film/cinema work. Absolutely pleased by the output on a budget. We were able to light an entire cafe with strategic placement.

PROS:

** The adjustable/dimmable settings provide precisely what we need for intimate settings, up to larger spaces.

** The telescoping stands give us the ability to light high or low. We found that the lights eliminated any competition by existing overheard lighting.

** Brightness? At full output, the light will make your talent squint.

** Portability is a must for outdoor locations, and so far, we've gotten beautiful lighting for close to 1.5 hours of work on the battery kit.

CONS: Definitely want to sand bag the stands so nobody bumps into these. I doubt they'd survive a fall because the bodies are plastic. That being said, if you can take care of your lights, you'll get your money's worth. Since LEDs are so expensive currently, I think the casings are of cheaper construction to keep the price from being too prohibitive. Again, it comes down to how well you care for your lights. If you have a bunch of clumsy people on your set, look out.

OVER ALL: For small-scale productions, I recommend this kit. It's cut our shot setup time by 50-70%, and aided a small-budget production immensely.

These LEDs are perfect for any setup including high frame rates. These two lights alone with perfectly light up your 240fps shots with no flicker. The lights break down in seconds and each have a handle at the top for easy carrying.

I use this lighting system to take pictures of samples in a dark laboratory. Others borrow the lights to use in different labs as well. I like the lights themselves, but I also like how easy they are to pack up and move to a different location. I haven't used the battery packs yet, so can't comment on that, but so far really pleased with the quality of the images I have been getting using these lights. One thing i have found that I don't like so much is that the lights screw off of the stand. It would be more convenient to have a quick release. It would also be nice if there were durable cases for the lights - i saved the cardboard packaging to transport the lights from lab to lab.

I bought these lights recently to use in film/music video shoots. I couldn't be happier with the result. They are extremely lightweight, do not get hot because they are LEDs, are easy to set up and break down. For half of a recent shoot I used the plug in wall, for the other half I used the battery packs where outlets were limited. The result was the same for both, the lights just as bright with the batteries, etc. The lights have a dimming feature that is also extremely useful. I highly recommend purchasing these lights.

This is a much needed piece of equipment required to complete our existing field lighting kit. It truly enhanced the production of the program segments in the field. We are very satified and easy to operate and use.

I like the fact they are battery powered as an option. The dimmers work great, the light stands and attachment are not typical. You do have screw in the light to the stand, it's not a quick release. however, once your intitial set-up is done for each shoot, you can colapse the tripod and carry the light attached to the tripod by the handle. I was concerned about the light temp being more of a blue/purple or green hue, but it has a nice white balance. For the price it's a nice kit, but once i can afford to upgrade to something nicer i will and these will become back-ups.

We often do video and photography in remote locations, and these are the perfect lights for almost any occassion. The light board units are very light weight, but not flimsy. The dimmers give you the ability to apply the perfect amount of light on your subject with ease. Also, the amount of light output is amazing... most people squint at full blast. The tripods are sturdy and made of quality materials. The batteries and chargers are a little bulky, but nothing you cannot manage with a small soft-sided case.The only thing that I was not immediately in love with was the stand connection. They use a standard tripod screw instead of the easy-mounts that are typically associated with professional lighting kits. They are sturdy once on the pod or hung from truss, but it is not fun haivng to twist them on and off. There's probably and adapter I can get to make this more convenient. Lastly, a case option would have been nice, but I made it work with an existing case since the package was so compact.
