The Sirui PH-20 Gimbal Head is a great solution to the problem of shooting moving subjects with a long telephoto lens. Ball heads and 3-way heads can be cumbersome in fast-moving situations, but the gimbal head makes your camera and heavy lens seemingly weightless, and you can smoothly and precisely track fast-moving subjects.
Cross-patterned, multi-layer carbon fiber in the arm and forged aircraft aluminum in the L-bracket make the PH-20 very strong--it can hold up to 44 lb, but it weighs only 2.4 lb. Carbon fiber also reduces vibrations and provides better tolerance for temperature changes.
With the camera and lens perfectly balanced on the gimbal head, there’s no need to lock any controls. You can quickly and easily move your camera in any direction with a very light amount of force. In fact, a correctly aligned system can be controlled with one finger.

Comments about Sirui PH-20 Gimbal Head:
Agree with earlier posts, this is a good/satisfying product. Every part of the gimbal head works as it should. My wife has only used it for a few days with our 500mm and 600mm lenses but, agree that the head operates smoothly with no faults at this time.
It seems to be a great product.

Comments about Sirui PH-20 Gimbal Head:
(First, I am not associated with any vendor - just a customer). Just received the Sirui PH-20 gimbal head and have not taken it out of the house. My initial assessment of the product is that it deserves the five star rating. Rationale: it appears to be every thing that the previous comments have written. It even exceeded my expectations due to the extra case and hardware - for mounting at the top of the arm if desired. (I don't know why any one would want to install and use the top/side mount)? Compared with a more expensive competitor I liked the Siru price and I'm satisfied with the hardware. Again, have only mounted my wife's Canon 600mm f/4 II on the gimbal head for an in the house review. Great so far.

Comments about Sirui PH-20 Gimbal Head:
I purchased this gimbal head to use with long lenses. I'm finding that it is not the length of lens that dictates using the gimbal head, it is the action. If you find a situation where you are changing position frequently, then you will love this gimbal head. Once this setup is balanced it is very easy to use. No more fumbling around with a pan head or ball head [loosen and retightening]. Just keep on shooting. This a very smooth piece of equiptment.
