There's really not much better on the market right now than the TF700 series. I got the 32gb version, to save some cost.

No problems with lack of memory... none, and I do an awful lot with this tablet. I've added microSD card to hold images and documents, which takes care of all my needs.

This tablet is upgradable (at this date) to JellyBean 4.2.1, and that is easily rooted, for those so inclined. I am inclined, as then I can use ad-blocking software, and have a better web experience.

Sure, I use the tablet for web and email, but also use it for typing my notes for meeting minutes (with a bluetooth keyboard, not the dock). I also prepare the final minutes and print them via a wireless HP printing solution (free app).

Running spreadsheets via Kingsoft Office (free app) everything works fast and easy. I use that for the minutes, documents, customer quotes, etc. Very good office app, and compatable with MS-Office and OpenOffice specs.

I'm using the Kensington KeyFolio universal - works GREAT with keyboard that seems to never need recharging (three charges in four months!).

The rear camera is better than I expected, but I don't use it all that much. I do keep maybe... a few hundred images in the tablet though. The video is smooth, but I only use that very rarely.

My only "beef" is the speaker, which really is not up to the task. You can get bluetooth headphones, and those are really nice, or use plug in phones, or plug in speakers (or bluetooth speakers), but thats all an add-on. The built in speaker needs a strong clear audio track to be effective. Any audio a little softer, or sub par in quality... and that speaker is struggling.

Aside from the speaker - this is a very good unit. I prefer Android, as its Linux based, easily rooted, and I'm familiar with Linux. The Apple iPad is a little (not much) smoother scrolling, but thats about the only advantage I was able to see. For my uses, scroll speed on the ASUS is plenty fluid enough. You really have to A-B compare the Apple and ASUS side by side to notice the difference. Google Play Store is great, so no issues there. And, there are more tablet optimized apps coming online all the time at the Play Store.

The screen brightness of the ASUS is outstanding. Zero issues reading the screen out in direct Florida sunlight - another reason I chose to spend a little more and get the TF700

    Thats all folks!

This was my third Android tablet purchase. First a TF300T, followed by a Nexus 7, and then this.
This by all counts should be an amazing tablet. It would seem to be smoking fast, and the keyboard w/ additional battery is an awesome feature. What you don't read about until you get it and start searching for answers is that it performs terribly. The lag and hang-ups are through the roof due to an I/O design flaw and insufficient memory. Just google the terms TF700 and I/O, or Slow, or sluggish. In order to eek decent performance out of it, you have to root it and load an alternative installation of Android, which is a fairly advanced task and voids your warranty. It then works much better, but is still is way slower than my Nexus 7, and even performs considerably worse than my entry-level TF300T, both of which have had no issues and are running the stock Android versions (upgraded when manufacturer supplied).

In short, I highly recommend that you not purchase this tablet. It's gorgeous, and has some amazing features but you will be disappointed in the end. I've regretted every penny of this purchase and you probably will to. If you're looking for reviews, make sure the reviewer has had it long enough to really use it like a tablet owner would. You'll quickly find real reviews, not at a glance reviews confirming these issues and others.

Comments about 32GB Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 10.1" Wi-Fi Only Tablet (Amethyst Gray):

First off I'm a first time tablet buyer and read pros and cons on several different brands that I was interested in. I was very interested in one that would be able to take excellent pictures and the Asus TF700 10.1" fit that to a tee. I've printed photos taken with this tablet and can't tell the difference from using our camera. That's an A+ for me. It's got a nice battery life and so far it's only been charged twice since receiving it. The Asus is easy for a novice like me to operate and has all the features that I could possibly ever want and more. I would highly recommend this tablet to anyone plus I haven't found one thing that says I should not have purchased this tablet.

Comments about 32GB Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 10.1" Wi-Fi Only Tablet (Amethyst Gray):

I have always been a fan of tablets, including Apple products. I opted for the Android system because if you added a keyboard, this becomes a 10-inch laptop. This unit has pretty darn good resolution, better than a lot of other tablets at this pricepoint. I paid $ shipped. After I bought it, the price went up to $!! I also went with Android because of the ability to be able to read Word, Excel documents, which I don't believe is free when having the iPad. This being said, the ASUS exceeds my expectations, in performance, finish and performance. I am a tech geek, but not to the geek that needs the latest (and most expensive). This serves my purpose for reading emails and shopping and surfing the new.

I had a TF300 that was stolen and insurance allowed me to replace it with this TF700. It was less expensive than the original, much more lightweight and operates nicely too. I keep the laptop at bedside so I can watch Netflix streaming or surf without the big laptop. And the camera is really great too...my food shots look terrific on that photo app! I also don't have a cellphone so a light, portable tablet is my form of communication while traveling so this should come in rather handy.

After using it for about a week.
It is annoying that Android is not recognized by browser venders as more than a mobile platform. It is missing plugins that are found in other versions of linux. Granted most people use it on a phone but this 10" tablet is much more like a PC than a phone. It only has wi-fi. I may eventually put a full blown linux on it to see if I like it better. If you want to use it as a laptop replacement you might be disappointed. So just make sure you know the limitations of android before you dive in and you will be happy with this light weight, gorgeous screen. I will update this later once I have a chance to really try out the camera and use some of the other features. It beats the hell out of my old netbook.

I use this tablet to surf the internet while home and away. The most impressive feature when first powered on is how sharp the resolution appears. I am still impressed by its sharpness. It connects quickly to recognized networks. So far my number one complaint with it is that the battery doesn't seem to last as long as claimed, but it still seems reasonable. Another complaint is the power cord is too short which hampers the ability to use it while charging unless you are close to an outlet.

I had and have phantom touches. Namely, unlike other tablets, my TF700 triggered on at least two apps when nobody touched the screen. This clearly seemed like a hardware problem, since the software worked properly on other tablets.

I sent it in for repair.
It was sent back to me saying it's OK and no call.
Somehow my 64 GB chip was missing and they couldn't "find" it.
I spoke with another person in the Caribbean and he gave me a FedEx mailer, but it went to Milpitas CA. It took another week to get to their ASUS repair site in Texas.
They sent it back to me again, without any note or call, despite my detailed explanation and phone number requesting a call. I had removed all apps and reset the TF700 leaving two apps that showed the problem.

My experience with ASUS repair was really awful.

I will not buy their products again.

So I have been looking and looking for the perfect tablet for me. I was on the verge of purchasing a Galaxy Tab, then went to a Ipad then here comes the ASUS! At first I was skeptical bc I wasn't familiar with the brand. BUT I must say this is a top notch Tab! IM HOOKED TO ASUS!

I did extensive research for a couple of months. Then waited to see what happened with Xmas specials. THEN waited to see if anything popped up at CES. But I still feel that currently this is the best 10" Android for the price (if the Kindle Fire HDX had full Google Play access I would sing a different tune). The tf701t has the Tegra 4 but at $100 more (and my not using this as a gaming rig), and the 700t still receiving better customer reviews on most sites, this wins. So far this turning out to be the perfect hardware/software set for use both at the office and at home on the couch.

Additionally, B&H had the best price. Actually, one other site matched it but I stuck with B&H based on past experience on reliable service.

Comments about 32GB Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 10.1" Wi-Fi Only Tablet (Champagne Gold):

I use this tablet at my career for various activities. I do work remotely via VMWare, take copious amounts of notes, and sometimes need to hit the Internet.

I love this product for the first two statements above. The battery life is around 12 hrs with the keyboard even if the reviews say 14 but thats still well over the amount I could ever need. I am quite thankful for that! With a fast internet connection I can do work from anywhere with this tablet! For my work purposes it is great and the android operating system allows me to do anything I could possibly imagine on it for little to no cost.

The only qualms I have about this tablet is browser based. I use google chrome which is a pretty seamless browser. However, the onboard 1GB of RAM is always at least being half way used by running applications even if I close all of them and kill the tasks. This is not upgradeable. If that is your major need I would recommend the TF701 which has 2GB of on board RAM and a display that is through the roof in terms of pixels.

This one has a very high resolution as well 1920x1200. For my purposes it is a great tablet!

Bought this for my wife. Runs well, battery lasts a two or three days between charges the way she uses it. (email, Facebook, web, etc).

The main con is a propriatary charging/docking port. The cover to the port sticks out, so I am always concerned the cover will fall off and get lost if we take it out of the house.

Comments about 32GB Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 10.1" Wi-Fi Only Tablet (Amethyst Gray):

Comments about 32GB Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 10.1" Wi-Fi Only Tablet (Champagne Gold):

The overall tablet is well designed and well made. The screen is bright and easy on the eyes. I am somewhat disappointed however in the Wi-Fi reception range. In our house, you pretty much have to be line of sight or close to it, to get decent reception. Otherwise it is slow or non-existent. Battery life seems fine for my applications.

Excellent achat

Comments about 32GB Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 10.1" Wi-Fi Only Tablet (Amethyst Gray):

I mainly use this tablet for reading sheet music when I'm performing live. The Asus TF700 works like a charm! I love that I could control the display brightness to suit the environment. Sometimes I need it bright, sometimes dim. Also, if I don't have a particular piece of music that someone requests, and the place I'm playing has Wi-Fi, I can jump online and get it. When don't need to read the tune I'm playing, I downloaded an app that acts as a light show. Haha! Production value!
This tablet replaced about four books of lyrics and sheet music, from which I was working! It's also a similar operating system and look to my Android phone, so I was totally at home immediately. Awesome!

Comments about 32GB Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 10.1" Wi-Fi Only Tablet (Amethyst Gray):

I have no regrets purchasing this tablet
As good as the Apple Ipad.
Good variaty of bundled applications for everyday use with not too much bloatware.
Great selection of apps from Google App store. Very easy to install applications. If you decide to uninstall applications, no problems at all.
Responsive and quick when browsing the internet, downloading apps or playing games.
WRT connectivity, it took a few tries before getting the device to recognize and connect to my WiFi network. I could not get it to connect manually so I had to use Wi-Fi Protected Setup. No loss of connectivity or problems with the connection since I have had the tablet.
As long as you the first charge is left for 8 to 12 hours, the battery hourly usage is as good as advertized.
Storage is easy to exploit and use.
Only hiccup is the placement of the speaker - sound is somewhat muffled if you have your hand on the underside of the speaker output. Otherwise, you need to put the volume almost to MAX to hear properly. If you wear earphones, no issues..the sound is very good.
I would recommend this to anybody looking for a good quality tablet at a good price.

I have had the tf700 for almost a month now and I am loving it. I bought it as a laptop replacement for college and it is doing it's job great. I haven't bought the dock yet but I am looking to buy it soon. I have used the tf700 for apps, movies, internet, and note taking. It does all of these things wonderfully but it runs a little bit slow on occasion due to the 1gb of ram. (Only reason I am giving it four stars) But if you download advanced task killer from the play store it will kill the background tasks that are running and free up more ram. I really am loving the tablet.
