The CM6870-US-3AD Desktop Computer from ASUS is simple yet powerful desktop computer that excels at multimedia. With a nVIDIA GeForce GT 620 graphics card with 2GB of dedicated memory as well as support for Full HD 1080p content, you'll be able to immerse yourself in a cinematic experience by connecting this ASUS desktop computer to an external display with the VGA or DVI-D or HDMI port.
The 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 port on this ASUS desktop computer computer will have you surfing the Web, streaming video or playing multiplayer games at blazing speeds. Came well packaged, on time and undamaged. I use it for gaming, fooling around with fractals, watching YouTube and Netflix and the usual web surfing and email. I bought this computer with the Asus VG236H monitor and it is beautiful. Love the AI Suite II, makes it easy to monitor and control tempurature, fan speed, cpu stats, etc. The BIOS interface makes it very easy to make tweeks and adjustments or even updates. The CPU and Motherboard make it a solid, versatile platform to add to and tinker with. (IMHO)

Great computer. 3rd Generation core 7 processor with 16gb RAM is amazing. Good for Photoshop and video editing. Haven't had any issues with 5400RPM hard drive being slow. I don't understand the thought process by ASUS to use it but, 7200 or 10,000 would have been a better sales point.

I use this PC as my primary home office pc but also as our main server for steaming to other pc's, tablets and to ROKU via PLEX and to AppleTV. My former dual core could not handle the load. I selected ASUS because I have been very happy with an ASUS notebook, netbook and TF300 Android Tablet. This PC operates very cool and quiet. Fron USB3 ports are very convenient.

My wife was trying to use the computer to convert our CDs, DVDs and BDs to our hardrive but the software included couldn't even play a Bluray Disk.
The machine and specs are great for the price. I like the positioning of the USB n such on the front at an angle.
The included software is junk for playing media, ripping and burning.

This PC did well right out of the box. I'd also bought a Dell UltraSharp U2312HM monitor and made the mistake of using the driver DVD that came with it. Don't make the same mistake. I had to use my five System Recovery DVDs to get the system to boot properly. Since then, though, it's been running well. I haven't fully tested it, but I'd highly recommend it based on my usage so far.

I did not experience the booting problems others have described, Asus must have corrected this issue.I find this unit to have very snappy performace for its price level. It has 5200 RPM disks, but I have noticed no I/O latency.I immediately upgraded to Win 8 with no problems. Additionally, I dual-booted it with Linux Mint 14-Cinnamon, as I am primarily a Linux user. No problems, the nVidia graphics board worked well enough with the default driver and getting the latest proprietary driver improved the video, allowing full 1920x1200 resolution form my monitor and 3D effects.The Asus BIOS utility is nicely done and allows good control of the UEFI boot configuration. It includes a utility to blow the fan in reverse slightly on boot to shake all the dust off it, which is a good idea. However, running Linux, this machine will easily spend a year between cold boots.Wireless connected easy enough, but I primarily use a hard ethernet connection.I use the box with a KDE switch, and there are no problems with that either, (except a glitch in the Linux nVidia driver that resets the resolution).Not really a gamer, but I run multiple databases, and large java apps, eclipse, etc simultaneously, and I am happy with the performance without having to pay hotrod prices.

Use it for photos and processing. Lots of memory for videos. It is very fast getting on the internet and B & H provided great service in shipping. I ordered it just before Sandy hit and expected to wait awhile for it but it was only delayed a couple of days. I pray for and have given some money to help those folks in NYC and the areas around.

I use the CM6870 for my home studio running Pro Tools 10. Obviously you have to exchange the Hard Drive (for a 7200 rpm drive) and add a firewire card. It wasn't easy getting all the screws out to remove the hard drive--the case seems to be an old construction (HP and Dell have a better layout). Other than the hard drive stuff, I am very happy with the computer: good value, fast (3rd gen intel), performs well, 4 USB 3.0 ports, 6 Sata ports, 16 gigs ram.

It has 5200 RPM disks, but I have noticed no I/O latency.I immediately upgraded to Win 8 with no problems. Additionally, I dual-booted it with Linux Mint 14-Cinnamon, as I am primarily a Linux user. No problems, the nVidia graphics board worked well enough with the default driver and getting the latest proprietary driver improved the video, allowing full 1920x1200 resolution form my monitor and 3D effects.The Asus BIOS utility is nicely done and allows good control of the UEFI boot configuration. It includes a utility to blow the fan in reverse slightly on boot to shake all the dust off it, which is a good idea. However, running Linux, this machine will easily spend a year between cold boots.Wireless connected easy enough, but I primarily use a hard ethernet connection.I use the box with a KDE switch, and there are no problems with that either, (except a glitch in the Linux nVidia driver that resets the resolution).Not really a gamer, but I run multiple databases, and large java apps, eclipse, etc simultaneously, and I am happy with the performance without having to pay hotrod prices.

Use it for photos and processing. Lots of memory for videos. It is very fast getting on the internet and B & H provided great service in shipping. I ordered it just before Sandy hit and expected to wait awhile for it but it was only delayed a couple of days. I pray for and have given some money to help those folks in NYC and the areas around.

I wanted a fast computer to handle large photo files for editing and correcting. This fits the bill, but is limited in that there are not expansion slots available for add-in cards. It is fast and appears to be stable, but I've only had it up and running for a few days at this point.

I use the CM6870 for my home studio running Pro Tools 10. Obviously you have to exchange the Hard Drive (for a 7200 rpm drive) and add a firewire card. It wasn't easy getting all the screws out to remove the hard drive--the case seems to be an old construction (HP and Dell have a better layout). Other than the hard drive stuff, I am very happy with the computer: good value, fast (3rd gen intel), performs well, 4 USB 3.0 ports, 6 Sata ports, 16 gigs ram.

Came well packaged, on time and undamaged. I use it for gaming, fooling around with fractals, watching YouTube and Netflix and the usual web surfing and email. I bought this computer with the Asus VG236H monitor and it is beautiful. Love the AI Suite II, makes it easy to monitor and control tempurature, fan speed, cpu stats, etc. The BIOS interface makes it very easy to make tweeks and adjustments or even updates. The CPU and Motherboard make it a solid, versatile platform to add to and tinker with. (IMHO)
