The LH138501C8B 8 Channel 8 Camera Security System from Lorex is a state-of-the-art surveillance solution that can be deployed 24/7 in your home or office premises. This security system allows for simultaneous viewing and recording of footage from up to 8 Lorex cameras.

Included in this security system are an 8-channel ECO2 DVR and 8 CVC7575PK4B cameras. Each of these cameras records clear and detailed images at a resolution of 600 TVL. The 3.6-mm, 78°-angle lens provides a wide field of view, thus making it easy to monitor broad areas. At night, these security cameras automatically switch to the B&W mode. The integrated IR-cut filter provides accurate color reproduction in any lighting condition. Moreover, the 18 IR LEDs of each of these day/night cameras provide a night-vision range of up to 60' (18 m).

The 8-channel ECO2 DVR records footage at resolutions of up to D1 (720 x 480). With the Pentaplex operation, you can simultaneously view, playback, record, and archive videos, and control DVR functions from a remote location. Keeping a track of high-risk areas during peak hours is simplified with the DVR's scheduled recording mode, using which you can program the DVR to record at a specific time or date. Additionally, when in the continuous recording mode, the DVR also sends prompt motion-activated visual alerts.

All the recorded videos are compressed in the H.264 format, ensuring optimal usage of the available storage and network resources. Equipped with a 500 GB hard drive (expandable up to 2 TB), the DVR provides ample space for storing videos. The recorded videos can be viewed locally over the Internet. They can also be viewed on the iPad tablet PC, smartphones like iPhone and BlackBerry (9800, 9700, 9000 models), phones with Android (version 1.5 & above), Windows Mobile (6.0, 6.5), and Symbian (3rd & 5th generations) operating systems.

Comments about Lorex LH138501C8B 8 Channel 8 Camera Security System:

This is a pretty nice system. A little difficult to understand some of the instructions for things like setting the camera for motion detection and setting up a Static address on your router. The router static instruction don't work.
The main problem with this system is that is wont let you access the cameras outside of your local Wifi range. If you in another city or state you are supposed to be able to view what you cameras see by setting up a ddns protocol. I did that but It
wont work with Mac. Ive called their support group and twice was put on hold, in India no less, for more than 45 minutes each time, I hung up both times. Their emails just repeat the same thing time after time with no solutions at all. My internet provider Frontier tells
me they wont open ports for customers and a static ip connection is extra money and expensive.
So... They cannot supply off site viewing of cameras, set up port forwarding, or a static address for Macintosh computers. They plainly state that their systems work with both PC and Mac. I dont think this is the truth.
IF you own a mac system stay away.. far far away.

Comments about Lorex LH138501C8B 8 Channel 8 Camera Security System:

This is my first experience of owning a security camera system so any comments I make are based exclusively off of the Lorex LH130 ECO2 eight camera system I purchased. So far I am extremely pleased with this system. The main factor leading me to purchase this system was the ability to connect to my TV via HDMI, and of course the price. Initial setup is fairly straight forward and if you do run into a problem the Lorex website has a lot of good information to resolve any issues you may encounter. Due to my geographical location I am currently unable to utilize the networking feature to allow remote viewing so I can't comment on that feature. In my opinion the CVC7575 cameras have an extremely wide view, but still allow very good picture quality. They are light sensitive so beware of where you locate them. I placed one camera on the eve of my house pointing to an out building just west of the camera. Morning and afternoon viewing are great but as it gets closer to sunset it's a different story. The sun glare pretty much takes over the image. Night viewing is good in black and white provided you have the camera located in a position that allows the light emitted by the LED's to be captured and reflected. I have a wide covered front porch with one camera pointing toward the front door approximately 30 feet away. I have what I consider to be extremely good, detailed, viewing on that camera 24/7. I agree that the cameras pointing straight out into the dark have a night time viewing of approximately 60 feet but for a somewhat detailed image the object being viewed probably needs to be within 20 to 30 feet, if not closer. Also the picture quality on those cameras during night viewing is a little grainy in total darkness. I really like the ability to set one or multiple cameras to only record when motion is detected. I use this feature with one camera to alert me that someone approached my home. Doing an event search on that camera allows me to pinpoint exactly when activity occurred. Just be careful not to hit the manual record button before or while you have a camera set to motion. Took me forever to try and figure out why a camera I had set to motion detection stayed in continuous record mode. Apparently I inadvertently hit the record button during setup which overrides the motion detection. I just hit the stop record button, inserted the password, and that fixed my problem. This system has a lot of features that I've just not had time to play with. Again, this is a "learn as I go" project, but so far I am extremely happy with this system as an added security feature for my home.

Comments about Lorex LH138501C8B 8 Channel 8 Camera Security System:

Very easy to install and set up. System is used to keep surveilance on a large warehouse facility. The camera viewing angles could be wider. The memory could have been increased to 1TB.
