After received the unit, install and attached a portable disk, install the software. Everything worked fine.
I bought a 4TB external disk and connected to the router. Worked fine except not able to download the software (server not responding). Then I could not access the router's configuration screen. Spent sometime to trouble shoot it. Finally reset the router and reconfigured it. Download the software now everything works as expected. I can access the disk from my Sumsung smart TVs directly.

This is our first ASUS router and we are using both the 2.4ghz and 5.0 ghz bands plus an isolated guest network that we setup for our clients. So far it has been solid. The web based coniguration is fairly intuitive and has more features then we need at present. (QOS, content filtering, cloud services, PPTP VPN server). The built in ftp server is a nice feature in that you can create folders and assign different permissions to internet users, yet still share it on your local network as an attached storage device without passwords.

I upgraded my Netgear g router to this one and I can see a big difference in speed an coverage. My roommates was complaining about weak signal from my Netgear so I did them a favor and bought this router and I have no regrets. Easy set up too.
The reason I take one star off is because of the connectors of the device. The small switch on the side, the usb ports and power port are so close to each other that it could be an issue for some.
Its much cheaper if you buy from B&H because there is no tax and is free shipping! Great deal. Please keep it up B&H!
