When I walked into B&H with the intention of purchasing a new camera bag, I did not expect to come out the door with this. Honestly I was sceptical about this backpack as I'm more comfortable with messenger bag and shoulder strapped bags, but I'm satisfacted with having this bag. For $[$], you have something that can easily hold a DSLR and a Camcorder along with a 70-300mm lens and other countless accessories. There's even two straps under the bag to hold a tripod!I will have to note that when wearing the backpack, it felt awkward as the bag tends to sag due to length of the bag, however this can be overlooked as I typically wear messenger bags on a daily basis.

This backpack has all the holders and zippers you are expecting with one major flaw. Despite coming from a brand that is known for holding up, this backpack consistently splits open at each zipper and does not fit comfortably.

Trusting too much of your gear in this pack is one of the most dangerous things you can do. Right now I have 3 lenses and a camera in the backpack as typically laid out, but after a nice walk or hike I will turn to notice the zippers are splitting open.

Other than this one major flaw, the pack is well designed. Every spacer adapts inside the bag such that you can customize the bag for your lenses and gear configuration.

Overall I recommend this product for the photo enthusiast and not a professional

Graduated from shoulder bag to backpack

Comments about Ruggard Outrigger 45 Backpack:

This bag has lots of room for everything I need to take on the road at half the cost of a Lowe Pro of comparable size. I got it for a new Canon T3i with two lenses, including a 300mm telephoto and lots of accessories. The camera fits in the bag with the telephoto attached, which isn't the case with my SO's Canon shoulder bag. It appears to be well constructed and the main compartment is fully adjustable. I am so glad I switched from a shoulder bag to a backpack. It's actually pretty comfortable to wear for a small pack with adequate strap padding; I suspect I'll never go back! Also, it doesn't look so much like a camera bag, which might provide some measure of security. Love the built-in rain cover! So far, the only thing I would change is to replace the zipper handles with some that have holes in them so I can attach small carabineers or other easily grabbed attachments.

Small but enough to carry a full frame camera and 3 lens (4 if you have a small lens like EF 35), and several filters, battery, memory cards… that makes this light backpack very appropriate if you like to go around the day with your equipment.I felt it really water protective, and very protective against an unexpected fall of the bag.Really a good product. I only dislike the chest and waist strap, that cannot be removed and I don´t use them.Just a minor issue: one of the yellow handles did not last one month. Not an issue that would obfuscate the qualities of this product.

Great back pack with all the room a amateur photographer would need. The bag is made of high quality material and can take a beating. The one negative is that the bag is heavier than I thought it would be when it was empty.

Okay, I've been a filmmaker for a littler over 7 years now and I don't know why it never dawned on me to buy a bag suited for all the gear I own. But I just recently purchased this bag and it is wonderful! I have a normal book bag and that is where I always had all my camera equipment but inside it would always be scraping up against each other and then wear down all the equipment. But with this bag, it has everything so neatly organized where I can find things so much easier and keep it in mint condition. I definitely recommend everyone to purchase this bag. But take notice that this bag only has room for one camera and a few lenses. Which is perfect for me but I know everyone else usually has more then one camera and more lenses so for the beginner/intermediate, I would definitely recommend this bag.

I am a photographer and I like that this camera bag has a lot of space and different compartments for all of my gear. One of the coolest features is the built in rain cover, which is obviously incredibly useful. The only reason that I am not giving this bag five stars is because it is not very comfortable. For the price, I can live with that, but this is the one drawback.

As my camera gear expands, so do my needs for a larger bag. While this is mid-size, it fits two mirrorless camera bodies, lenses and my GoPro. I would like to have more adjustable straps for some of my smaller tripods, but the weather cover is an added bonus. Good quality and comfortable to wear as a backpack.

I am quite impressed by the quality of the backpack. It is very well constructed. The stitches are tight and do not unravel. I love that there are so many compartments and pockets. It is also light despite all that capacity.

I own an Olympus E-420 and four lenses, but one is a 25mm pancake lens. This will fit all of this easily. The E-420 is a little smaller than other DSLRs, but I think this would accommodate any camera, plus other items. I was surprised at the amount of room in this bag. I haven't had a chance to go out with it yet, but I think it will be easier to carry and transport than a traditional camera bag, especially if you go hiking.

The bag falls over when I put my camera in it because of the way the bag structure is designed. Need some kind of counter weight at the bottom . Otherwise a fine bag lots of nooks and crannies for gear and accessories perhaps some accessories could counterweight the design flaw

This backpack style camera bag from Ruggard really is a great product. The adjustable interior does a wonderful job of keeping my camera and lenses safely organized and with the numerous zippered accessory pockets there really is no excuse not to bring all your gear with you. This backpack isn't going to win any awards for looks or comfort, but it's certainly good enough and the price IS award winning in my book. Anyone seriously thinking about this bag won't be disappointed.

I got this in a bundle with my Nikon D7100 and wasn't sure if I'd even use it as I already had another bag. It has since become my main camera bag. My only gripe is it looks a little on the small size for a man to wear but it doesn't really bother me that much. Huge bonus having the rain fly as weather changes quickly in CO.
