Additionally, the multipurpose tray can handle heavier media such as card stock and labels and provides the option to keep a 2nd, commonly used media type in the printer for easy swapping.

In addition to a USB connection, the MFC-8910DW features both wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity. Easily share the unit with everyone on your network while still protecting your proprietary data thanks to the unit's built-in security features. In addition to scanning to the computer, the MFC-8910DW's network connectivity allows for scanning to a mobile device via Brother's iPrint&Scan app (Apple/Android/Windows Phone), an email address, an FTP server, USB device, network folder or email server.

The embedded fax modem provides sending and receiving capabilities both from the unit itself and via a PC. Easily send multi-page and 2-sided documents in 1 step with the ADF. Additionally, the machine provides a wide range of fax options including auto redial, fax forwarding and broadcasting. Even if the machine is out of paper, the dedicated memory stores up to 500 pages so you don't miss any important faxes.

The MFC-8910DW lets you copy legal sized documents right from the scan glass. The duplex ADF provides the ability to copy 2-sided multipage documents in 1 easy step. In addition to basic copying, use the menus for options such as 2-in-1 and 4-in-1 copying, reduction and enlargement and ID Copy which provides a simple way to copy 2 sides of an ID card onto 1 page.

Comments about Brother MFC-8950DW Wireless Monochrome All-in-One Laser Printer:

Bought 1 last year. Really heavy use on copying and fax. It started having overheating issues after 15 months of use. At [$] this makes me sad. We did a comparative TCO over 3 years between Lexmark, HP, Brother and Kyocera (via Leasing). Surprisingly, even with the fix costing %50 of the price, brother still comes out ahead. Supplies are lower in cost compared to others. End users were happy with printer, so we bought another one for a different department.

Comments about Brother MFC-8950DW Wireless Monochrome All-in-One Laser Printer:

Print, copy, scan, fax have all been used during the first month of service with no hang ups. The unit is fast compared to my last machine and a little noisy. The noise is annoying but not maddening. Purchased the unit in advance of tax season which will be the real test. Looks good so far.

Product came as described in prime condition. The speed is not as fast as I expected and the toner cartridge signals too soon for a replacement. Those points are minor. The printer fits my small office needs.

Comments about Brother MFC-8950DW Wireless Monochrome All-in-One Laser Printer:

The Brother MFC-8950DW can print, scan, and fax, all over a network. It also is a great standalone copier/fax machine. The large touch screen helps to make it easy to use for multiple purposes. Additionally, printing from and scanning to a USB is nice. Brothers own mobile print and other apps allow you to print from your mobile devices via Wi-Fi Direct, so you can easily connect to mobile devices.
The MFC-8950DW offers some special scan capability that includes both a flatbed and an automatic document feeder (SADF). 8950DW's flatbed is big enough for legal-size pages.
You can also scan at legal size with the 50-page ADF, and scan in duplex (both sides of the page). This feature is awesome! The scanner, rather than the ADF, does the duplexing, meaning it has two scan elements, so it can scan both sides of the page at the same time. Most, small office MFPs with duplex scanning use duplexing ADFs instead, which scan one side of the page, turn it over, and then scan the other side.
The MFC-8950DW clearly slows down when in duplex, but the speed was a lot faster than it would be scanning and flipping each side separately.
Obviously the ability to scan in duplex, combined with print/copy duplexing, also lets you copy both single- and double-sided pages to your choice of single- or double-sided copies.
The MFC-8950DW also is unique for its paper handling with a 500-sheet paper drawer, and a 50-sheet multipurpose tray standard. You can add a 500-sheet second drawer option.
This system is small, at 18.8 by 19.3 by 16.3 inches (HWD) it fit on my desk.
At 42 (ppm) the 8950DW is quite fast. Text and graphics output are great, photo quality is good for printing, even brochures look good.

Bottom line, 500 sheet paper capacity, ability to scan both sides of a sheet simultaneously, the convenience of touch-panel controls, a Gigabit Ethernet, 12,000 page toner capacity, all of these features together make the Brother MFC-8950DW a perfect system for my office.

Comments about Brother MFC-8950DW Wireless Monochrome All-in-One Laser Printer:

            The printer is fast, responsive, intuitive to set up and to use. It comes with detailed but well written + easy to use instruction/reference book. Features are well thought out and the touch screen menu allows selections to be made easily even with a large set of features and options that this machine has. Printer quality is excellent. Copy functions have many feature yet remain easy and efficient and fast in form and function, Scanner works well, especially the duplex scan features. The hardware easily interfaces with a alot of different software and programs. I do not like the paper port product bundled with the printer as it is not intuitive and too many steps needed to get anything done, and it is not at all easy to figure out where the scanned file will end up. The power switch could be placed in better location, and output tray could be larger and needs improvement to keep papers from flying out on to the floor as the tray fills with printed pages. The "Bolt" PDF software needs to be changed. It does not work as it should, and distorts text or changes appearance of fonts. With so many print options the list of user profiles can get large and needs something to more easily select from different profiles;

We are a small home office that relies heavily on copying, faxing and scanning. I have had many HP and Brother models in the past. The set up was as simple as 1, 2, 3 and there is virtually no warm up time on the first copy, fax or scan of the day. I love this darn thing!!!

Brother has totally redesigned their mfc series. The web interface on this thing flies and it has been redesigned to be much better looking. I have 4 of these running now. One has printed almost 8000 pages without a single jam, another 4000. So far they have been almost flawless.

Comments about Brother MFC-8950DW Wireless Monochrome All-in-One Laser Printer:

Prints, scans, copies extremely quickly, with very high quality output. Also full-featured fax. Can print to printer from iPhone, iPad, etc. easily (AirPrint). Can scan to Google Docs and other online services. Can print from Google Cloud Print. Can connect to computer directly (USB) or can connect to wired or wireless network. Very good per-page print costs. Can print/scan/fax/copy double sided (duplex) automatically. Has automatic document feeder for scanning, copying, and faxing, but can also place items on the copier glass for copying. Can scan to computer, to USB flash drive, to network, to Internet. Quiet in operation, and goes to sleep to save power if you wish. Can replace toner and drum separately, which is more economical. Also has color touch screen for many controls, making it easy to use. The MFC-8950DW is a fantastic device, definitely a 5-star purchase.
