The SSD 520 Series (480GB, 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive) from Intel comes with 480GB capacity giving you the necessary storage for your media and critical documents. With a 550/520MB/s sequential read and write capability you can access and write your data to the drive quickly and efficiently. The SATA 6.0Gb/s interface allows for compatibility with a wide variety of drive enclosures and computer configurations. The increased shock absorption found within this Intel Solid State drive means you can rest assured if you bump the drive your data will remain safe.

Enhanced Read / Write Capabilities
With 550/520MB/s sequential read and write capabilities you can access your data stored within the drive quickly. This fast access allows you to get more done faster. Random read IOPS or (Input/Outputs Per Second) in excess of 50,000 IOPS and random write IOPS in excess of 42,000 allow for more efficient access to the data thus also increasing the read / write capabilities of the drive.
Decreased Latency
With latency read / write readings of 80 and 85 microseconds the time delay for accessing and writing data is nearly unnoticeable.
Shock Absorption
Enhanced shock absorption found within the Intel 520 Series Solid State Drive helps to protect your data in the case of accidental drops or bumps to the hard drive.

Comments about Intel SSD 520 Series (480GB, 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive):

I have had Intel SSDs since their launch from my old Faithful X-25M series to that one, never once have they failed myself or on any of our other machines. Intel's NAND wear levelling looks good, 1.2% wear after 2 years of heavy use with a near average of 80GB being written on them daily.

As always Intel commits themselves much to driver stability and to their legendary reliability on their products!

Comments about Intel SSD 520 Series (480GB, 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive):

I use the Intel 480GB SSD as the C drive in my desktop computer. It is an upgrade from a 160GB Intel SSD i purchased when i built my desktop four years ago. I now use the 160GB drive for backup. The price per GB has dropped from $7.19 to about $1.00 today. So yes, it is more expensive that a conventional hard drive, but cheap compared to four years ago. The dive is dead silent, reliable, and very fast. Do NOT defrag your SSD. You will not believe how quickly your machine will boot. Make sure to check the Intel part number if you want the conversion kit with the drive. The included software and cables made the replacement very easy. Just read all the instructions before you start.
