The ATX/STX 85mm Modular Objective Lens from Swarovski is a rugged yet refined spotting scope objective assembly from one of the world's most renowned optics manufacturers. The ATX/STX series combines the unmatched image quality and world-class workmanship that nature enthusiasts, tactical professionals, and researchers have come to expect from Swarovski sport optics. The 85mm objective assembly is robust, relatively lightweight, and especially well-suited for digiscoping and long-range nature observation on-the-go.

Swarovski's proprietary SwaroVision technologies redefine the standard for optical excellence. Fluoride-containing HD elements are the core of ATX/STX series. These premium-glass elements efficiently transmit all wavelengths of visible light, resulting in bright images that are color-faithful, crisp, and rich with detail. SWARODUR and SWAROTOP coatings on all lenses and prisms minimize glare while maximizing contrast. Phase-corrected prisms in the modular eyepiece ensure that images are rendered with unsurpassed clarity. Perfecting the optical path is a SwaroVision field flattener lens that eliminates geometric optical distortion throughout the zoom range. Field flattener lenses reduce barrel and pincushion artifacts common in wide angle and telephoto optics while preserving clarity and sharpness along the edges of the field of view.

Optional digiscoping accessories from Swarovski allow operators to transform their ATX spotting scope into a formidable digital imaging platform. These accessory adapters enable integration with point-and-shoot, mirrorless, and DSLR camera systems, and feature the build-quality and thoughtful engineering you expect from Swarovski. Now your superior optics can be used to capture high-definition stills and video of that rare bird or butterfly in your sight.

Ergonomic handling and user-friendly functionality package the ATX premium optics into a full-featured glassing system. The objective lens assembly's bayonet mount is designed for Swarovski's ATX (angled-view) and STX (straight-view) modular eyepieces, allowing operators to change the viewing configuration of their scope by simply swapping out the eyepiece. Swarovski engineered the modular eyepiece focus dial to precisely align with the zoom dial on the objective assembly, enabling one-handed adjustments to field of view and zoom. This feature is especially useful when tracking an object, requiring one hand to guide the tripod head. The ATX/STX series is designed to be an observer's delight; it will withstand the rigor of the wild and deliver flawless objective-to-ocular optical performance for years to come.

    Swarovski ATX 85mm Objective Modular.

Comments about Swarovski ATX/STX 85mm Modular Objective Lens:

Waited several weeks to do the review so that I had adaquite time to test & compare the complete package. This Swarovski ATX Angled - 85mm objective lens spotting scope is the BEST spotting scope I own and have tested to date! I tested it & compared it on a daily bases side by side to these other spotting scopes I own personally: a Leica APO 82mm straight spotting scope, a Leica APO 77mm angled spotting scope, a Meopta MeoPro 80mm HD angled spotting scope, a Minox MD-62-ED L.E.R. eyepiece straight spotting scope, and a Minox MD-62w-ED angled L.E.R. (Long Eye Relief) eyepiece spotting scope. All these spotting scopes have WA Zoom, or Reg. zoom eyepiece's in them. They were all set up on Gitzo carbon fiber tripods with Gitzo #GH1720QR, or #GH2720QR Birding pan/tilt heads on them. They were compared side by side on overcast hazy days, cloudy days, clear sunny days, & two days that hit 90 degrees. Two days in a woodland setting, and about eight or ten times in a marsh/seashore setting. While observing shore birds, Birds of prey, and mostly American Bald Eagles, where I monitor three(3) eagle nest, and two(2) Red tail hawk nest in Cumberland County, New Jersey. All the previously mentioned spotting scopes I have owned for between ten years, and the shortest about four or five years. I also bring people out Birding and let them Demo all my spotting scopes and my collection of multiple brand's of binoculars. So I have a lot of experience on a weekly, if not sometimes on a daily bases using all this equipment. The Swarovski ATX Angled 85mm spotting scope is sharp as a pin right to the edges, has no noticeable chromatic aberrations that I can detect, has excellent contrast & resolving power, & has no flare or coma that I could detect. I could not detect any pincushion distortion or barrel distortion either. The center barrel focus control is smooth & fluid. Space available WOULD NOT let me finish my review!!! Brightest & widest field of view to date!

Comments about Swarovski ATX/STX 85mm Modular Objective Lens:

I bought this set up for digiscoping. It is an awesome set up, compared to the old philosophy and hokie adapters!*I have to warn you... the weather condition must be fairly perfect! This being said, even on hot sunny days the heat can make your image a mess, depending on focal length.I never knew this until I was having issues and I also learned that most digiscope super sharp photos have a close focal length, usually within 40-50 yards. (per Swarovski) **Must haves!! Must have a great tri-pod and balance plate for the scope! Cable release for shutter or use the self timer!***Don't be afraid to boost your ISO's(800-3000) After having issues I worked with Team Swarovski sending them sample photos and info about each photo and they are great to work with!!I'll post two pics. One on a sunny day and one on a slightly cloudy day. I hope this helps!I would recommebd this product but only if they understand the limits and conditions! I would hate for them to spend $xxxx+ and can only use this on nice sunny days!!
