The Aluratek Bluetooth Sportclip Receiver is a wireless audio receiver that lets you use your corded headphones or earbuds with a Bluetooth-enabled (A2DP) smartphone, tablet, or computer. It clips securely to your clothing, making it a great solution for listening to music while working out.

The Sportclip is easy to setup and use. First, initiate the brief and simple pairing operation. When the blue LED flashes, it means that the Sportclip and your device have been successfully paired. Plug your headphones or earbuds into the 1/8" (3.5mm) Aux In, and turn on the music or other audio on a Bluetooth-enabled device.

When you play music, the song title is displayed on the unit's LCD display. When receiving phone calls, the Caller ID info is shown. Your music automatically pauses when a call comes in, and resumes when the call ends.

The Sportclip can receive music streamed from a Bluetooth device up to 33 feet away. It supports Bluetooth 2.1, which provides superior audio quality.

Power is supplied to the Sportclip via internal rechargeable Lithium-ion battery (included), and gives you approximately 12 hours of life before recharging is needed. A USB 2.0 charging cable is included, allowing you to charge the unit from your computer.

Comments about Aluratek Bluetooth Sportclip Receiver:

I mini reviewed in my wordpress blog (noivad). The long and short is this. I would love this product is not for 2 flaws.
          (1) The audio quality is just nowhere near the Kanex AirBlue that B&H also offers. For BT A2DP adapters with a battery pack in the, the Kanex Wins in sound quality hands down.
          (2) More importantly the battery lasts maybe 2 hours of continuous use.
and to that a minor thing:
          (3) the 3.5mm phone jack is also how the thing is recharged.
What this means is that I can get one or two work sessions in, but that's it. I have to still carry the other BT audio device with me or plug into my laptop or phone to listen more than a few hours. If it needs to recharge, I cannot simultaneously listen to it like the Kanex AirBlue unit can.

Also if I charge up the battery at night, and run it about 1.5 hours. THe next day, it lasts maybe another 10 minutes. I have had this a few weeks, and the battery performance is consistently dismal.

It does have one potentially great feature: It looks like it has the ability to run an mic in the chip because the Mac IDs it as a Hands Free & Headset unity. I have not been able to verify it was picking up my voice on a few calls because I had my phone in my pocket and the person on the other end heard me fine. If I try to use the mic with the mac as an input it fails though, but perhaps that's because the battery dies within minutes in the transmit mode. The audio quality seems to bear this mode out though because it goes into a really low dynamic range for audio coming from the Mac when I go into this mode.

The LCD display is somewhat useful, but the lack of a decent manual (either included or on Aluratek's site) makes operation a bit hit and miss. I have questions and with no complete manual, just a quick start, questions such as "Is it one or two taps to do what? what does that beep mean? etc. make operation a bit frustrating.

I like it, but the battery and audio quality are lacking. But even for the full retail price, if it has the mic, and it works, it is a good deal if you need a decent headset and already have a good pair of regular headphones. 3Stars.

If they improve this device, it could earn back a star for each major shortcoming mentioned.

Comments about Aluratek Bluetooth Sportclip Receiver:

The sound and bluetooth connection is fine. Although the box says up to 12 hours of playback, the battery only lasts for about 2 hours. Alurtek support told me that the battery was deffective so I returned the item to B&H and they sent me a new one. Again, the battery only lasts 2 hours. B&H's customer service is fantastic but unfortuantely, this item it not very good. And Alurtek's support is useless. I won't bother B&H by returning it again (it's certainly not their fault) but I would never buy another Alurtek product.

Comments about Aluratek Bluetooth Sportclip Receiver:

It was cheap...what could I have expected. It does work, but the volume is significantly reduced, so that whatever you have it plugged into (headphones) it just isn't as loud as it would be normally. The sound however, is clear. I guess thats a plus.
