The Sunwayfoto PNL-D800 L-Bracket for Nikon D800/D800E Without Battery Grip enables fast changes between portrait and landscape orientation with your Nikon D800 or D800E– without the need to readjust your head and completely recompose the shot. You can simply release the bracket from your Arca-style quick-release clamp (not included), tilt it 90°, and lock the bracket back in place. Using an L-bracket also facilitates a sturdier base of support than tilting an entire head to a 90° position.
Machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminum, the PNL-D800 is designed specifically for the Nikon D800 or D800E. It features four safety stop mounting holes on the back of the bracket.
- The camera can be mounted in several different positions to achieve proper balance
- Smooth corners with a convex edge to prevent the camera from twisting
- High-quality anodizing ensures a scratch-free finish
- The strap hole provides a spot for fastening a camera strap, for carrying the camera comfortably and securely while it's mounted to the bracket
- Standard 1/4"-20 screw mounting holes on both the horizontal and vertical segments of the bracket

It works great with My Nikon D800 and Sirui K20x ball head. The only issue is that you can not open the door for connectors when you put it to all the way to the left side of camera. Overall it is good product.

I leave it on the camera even when I'm not using a tripod. It's so light weight I hardly notice it's there...it's just another part of the camera. But, it secures the camera to the tripod head better than any device I've ever used and allows me to change the camera's orientation from horizontal to vertical in an instant without changing the configuration of the tripod head. I also like the fact that it doesn't obstruct access to any of the camera's controls or connections.

Sunway Photo L Bracket for the Nikon D800 is a precision engineered grip at a great price. I'm using it with a Really Right Stuff Panorama rig and it works perfectly with their gear. The bracket is as well made as RRS gear at 35 percent less cost. Highly recommended for D800 owners. I'm considering additional purchases of Sunwayfoto gear

Similar to the Kirk L-bracked for D800, the two legs of the L are axially not aligned with respect to the sensor plane. So in a panorama setup the nodal slide needs to be readjusted by 8mm when switching from horizontal to vertical.
