Comments about Buffalo LinkStation Pro Duo Network Hard Drive Array Enclosure (Diskless):

Easy to install and use it. I save all of pictures on this drive with RAID 1 . do not use the RAID 0 because if one disk died, your all data will be gone. So, keep the 2 disks with RAID 1.

Comments about Buffalo LinkStation Pro Duo Network Hard Drive Array Enclosure (Diskless):

Overall so far not bad. Having already had a Personal build NAS that I made using FREENAS and also NAS4FREE software on an old desktop shell, The buffalo comes nowhere near the amount of customization and options that freenas had granted. But if you just want something simple and plug and use this will do the trick. Using flawlessly UPNP streaming to PS3 for media server, however I have to leave the power settings in the ON mode not AUTO as the PS3 will not keep it awake, and it will go to sleep within 10 min which is really annoying. If using in AUTO power saver mode a desktop has to be running buffalo's NAS navigator software to keep the linkstation awake else it will sleep on you. Also another CON is the Timer feature on the software is not working. I have created several Timers to wake up the NAS in AUTO mode from certain Time frames (5pm-9pm) and the link station still will not wake on theses times. Will update my review after more tinkering, however WOL has only been successful on network. Still cant beat the price if you want a simple 2 bay NAS.

Comments about Buffalo LinkStation Pro Duo Network Hard Drive Array Enclosure (Diskless):

Exchanged an Iomega NAS for this product and I am loving it! The difference was very clear once I started using it. The speed was a slight improvement but my best experience is the Bittorrent client which uses uTorrent. On top of the reliable DLNA for media streaming, this has some nifty features I am definitely using.

Comments about Buffalo LinkStation Pro Duo Network Hard Drive Array Enclosure (Diskless):

The company keeps a large photo and video library. I had purchased 2 3tb Sata drives to install in an old Dell server but the server wouldn't accept them do to the BIOS. We purchased this slid the drives in it, followed the instructions for setting up raid 1 and were off and running. (EASY) I like the product with just a couple of slight nuisances When setting up Active Directory, it seemed to take a long time to propagate the rights but works fine after it does. Also, when opening the shares the first time of the day, they open a little slow but works very fast after the initial opening. I would purchase this again and do recommend it.
