The Image S4i (II) from Klipsch is a pair of in-ear headphones that not only deliver full range audio with deep bass, but also provides a level of isolation from external noises. Dual magnet driver technology delivers a wide frequency range while preserving dynamic detail. The Image S4i (II) features a standard 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo mini headphone jack, and a carry case is included for convenient storage, along with clothing clip for anchoring the remote.

I go through a lot of in-ear headphones, in the $-$ range. I have typically bought Denon (AHC-560) as the sound quality is great, but the build quality leads to them lasting roughly 1-year before they either break by themselves, or I do something stupid that typically involves the jack breaking. If the AHC-560 didn't cost $, I would replace them and not look at alternatives.I've have the S4i II for 3 weeks now, with an iPhone 5. Typical usage is during commuting, walking around NYC, flights and some occasional gym based exercise, but not distance running which would probably be a tougher test. They feel pretty solid - the flat wire can sometimes feel a little flimsy, but I think that's just a perception from someone who is used to typical round cords. The remote feels solid and sturdy, and the buttons themselves are laid out a nice distance from eachother - with other earphones with an in-line remote, I've had problems of hitting multiple buttons at the same time. The audio jack has been a little strange to get used to, as I'm used to 90 degree (right angle) jack designs. The straight jack can protrude a little outside of my pocket when I have my iPhone connected, but it's not a big deal - I'm just hyper sensitive to caring for the jack as it's typically where I have problems. The actual ear-bud themselves are comfortable, but the oval / elliptical shape is a little different to what I'm used to. It sometimes doesn't feel as it's making as good a seal as my previous Denons. It also leads me to feel that the actual body of the earphone (black/silver part that doesn't go into the ear canal) protrudes out a little further than usual, feeling a slight weight imbalance. Again, not a big deal, but only in very certain / small scenarios: on a plane, when trying to sleep while listening to music, the less an in-ear headphone sticks out, the better for resting the side of your head on a headrest.I haven't yet used them for voice calls on the iPhone, but I've always preferred to simply use the phone as normal - having a phone call with noise isolation has always felt weird to me, where you can't gauge your own voice decibel level.Overall, I'm pretty happy with them. I just hope the build quality, over time, beats the Denons and that the flat-wire and jack design can stand up to daily usage.

Replacement of same item (version I) purchased to listen to music and audiobooks during commute and while walking.
Pros: Sound is pretty good - I haven't been able to best it for the price, which I feel is a little high. Bass heavy, could become fatiguing at higher volumes or over time. I've had Etymotics, which sound better, but are notoriously uncomfortable.
Manufactured with oddball flat wire, supposed to reduce tangles but tradeoff is stiffness and some uncomfortable behavior. My last set failed at the jack as often happens - we shall see how this flat wire and new jack handle daily usage. I'm considering adding additional support at the jack/wire junction using heat shrink tubing.
Finally, Klipsch switched from soft rubbery ear tips to clear silicone, which I find slips out of my ear easily, requiring me to frequently adjust, push back in, etc. BTW, I'm using the largest ear tips to compensate - normally I fit medium size.
Conclusion: Good, but with caveats. I'm open to alternatives.

Just lost my last pair on the plane, and had to have new ones. I must have odd-shaped ears or something, because every other pair I've tried soon falls out of my ears. These don't, and the sound is fantastic.

I use the earphones everyday at the gym. They have great sound and the flat cable does not coil or twist like my last earphones. Excellent cord length for range of motion. The ear tips come in 4 sizes and I finally found a size that works perfectly for me. The only thing I would have done differently if I were Klipsch would be to have a better case.

My wife runs, with an iPod for entertainment, about 6 days a week but complained about the sound quality of the Apple headphones. Our nephew mentioned the Klipsch brand and I ordered them for a Christmas present. She LOVES them! They allow her to listen to her music yet be aware of her surroundings. Clear and precise sound quality. Get them!!!

Comments about Image S4i (II) - In-Ear Headphones for iPods and iOS Devices (Black):

first, let me say that i really like these headphones, as well as its predecessors (the s4i, s5i, the "rugged" version, etc.). i bought these to replace one of those earlier versions, which had lasted about a year (still too short a time period).

this time around, i opted for the extended warranty (SOMETHING I TYPICALLY NEVER DO AND WOULD ORDINARILY CALL OUT AS A SCAM, WOULD NOT OTHERWISE RECOMMEND, ETC.). but in this instance, i'm glad i did because in about 6 weeks -- not months -- of LIGHT usage (just my daily commute -- no sports, hiking, etc.), the unit stopped working completely. first the remote stopped working. then the right speaker went out, swiftly followed (maybe a day later) by the left.

i give them +1 star because they're really good WHEN THEY WORK. they fit nicely in my ears (full disclosure: i use these with the Comply foam tips, which are orders of magnitude better than the plastic tips these come with), the sound quality is outstanding for in-ear headphones, the speaker-remote works with my iphone, etc.

but seriously, if you already have a reliable pair, stick with those -- otherwise if you're strongly considering getting these, fuhgetaboutit unless you intend to buy the 3-year extended warranty. take it from someone on his 4th pair of klipschs...

I purchased these earphones and they permoed well while they worked. The do sound great and block outside sounds well. However they only lasted 2 months before one earrbud stopped working (per reviews on the manufacturers website this is a common problem). I contacted the manufacturer to replace them per the warranty and they did, although it took several weeks. Once again though, the new pair lased only about 2 months and then one of the earbuds stopped working. Avoid, unless you don't mind spending $[$]/month on earphones.

This is an update to my review. I still think they sound good but the cable is so noisy when it touches or rubs against something, which is always when walking around and often when on the computer. Its much more sensitive to touch the closer to the ears. If you don't move you're head you'll be fine.

I wouldn't get these again for this reason as I'd see what else is around for a similar price point.

Comments about Image S4i (II) - In-Ear Headphones for iPods and iOS Devices (Black):

I bought these to replace my old S4i headphones which had the round wires. I use these pretty much every day and they are even better than my last pair. The flat wire helps to untangle the wires quickly and easily and the sound is awesome. The control on the wire is handy as it can control volume, and pause and skip to the next song without having to pull my iphone out of my pocket. I got the extra 2 year warranty on the last pair which I used after a year and a half when I accidentally broke the wire. I filed a claim and got a check for the full value of the old headphones. Hopefully these will last another year or two!

Very clear, great isolation, with a nice boomy bass response. Sturdy cable, which makes all the difference with these things considering how much they get thrown about and rolled up, etc. Wish the controls moved, so I can put the shirt clip where they are (which is actually most comfortable location for me).

Big fan of these headphones. I have owned a couple of pairs and tried other one out but keep coming back. I like the new tangle resistance cord on these as well. It actually makes a big difference from the S4i (I)'s.
