Speedy printer with great quality print. Fast startup from sleep then goes back to sleep after predeterminted time. 250 sheet is plenty, just wished bypass tray can hold more than a dozen sheets. Scan to PDF and other features are a nice touch. Didn't really need the fax function so can't comment on that. I also own the Canon MF4550 and they are pretty comparable except no network feature.
Easily handles all home and small office needs. Larger office with volume needs a printer with larger toner capacity.

Does not automatically scan when I put paper into ADF. I have to press scan button then select remote scanner to get it to scan from Adobe 8 Pro. Beside this annoying feature, the printer prints and scans well.

Use this to prin everyday. I had a Dell laser jet I used for years but ink was very highly priced. Decided to get a new printer for the price of the ink of the Dell. So far so good. Quality is better than my last printer and print speeds are alot faster. 6 seconds or less for the first print every time. I love the fact I have a scanner, copier, and fax machine now too!

I bought this product so I could fax and receive faxes. It is fast and easy to use and that makes it a very good all in one for anybody who does not have a lot of experience using all in one machines. It comes all put together all you have to do is remove some pieces of plastic and the toner cartage is easy to replace. I like it very much !!!

Set up was straight forward on both Mac OS X ML 10.8 and Windows XP. Prints great from both OSes. Scans great from both OSes. Have not used the fax. Supports back to 10.5 on Mac which is great compared to HP that has been leaving you in the cold when new OSes come out. Probably going to switch to Canon now. Oh yeah, copies fine too.

Only downside is the scanning interface. You can't just run scanning software from computer and it works. You have to put the MF printer into scan mode by first pressing the Scan button on the printer and selecting "Remote" to allow computer software to then scan, or "local" (might be another word) at which point when you scan on the printer it sends it to the computer. This might turn into a great feature but in a small office where your computer is right next to the printer, it would be nice to have some default setting to let computer just run scan software and it would work. This is why it gets a 4 star and not a 5 star. I'm the admin who installed it, not the user.

It is a great all in one that is easy to use and setup. It is well packaged at the factory. The printing is very fast.

The scan and print quality is good at this price point. If you plan on scanning photos on the flatbed, you should look for a dedicated scanner.

Comments about Canon imageCLASS MF4770n Network Monochrome All-in-One Laser Printer:

This is a good printer for occasional home use. I had an inkjet earlier and the ink used to dry before depleting. I like fast printing and ability to print from network. Large paper capacity, good print clarity, small size, cheaper printing per page.

Scanning is not user friendly. My earlier printer supported scan to memory card. This has scan to computer but sometimes fails to save the second or later pages.

Overall a good printer for the price I paid.
