The Revo 23" Camera Track Slider is a small and lightweight camera slider that you can conveniently carry from location to location and maximize as many of your scenes as possible with fluid motion. You can set the slider on its feet or mount it on a tripod and glide your camera left, right, forward or backward. A rig of up to 21 pounds can be attached and moved smoothly the entire 23 inches of the track.

A 1/4" and a 3/8" threaded screw-hole is positioned at the bottom center for mounting tripods. Aside from these, a few non-threaded holes run along the bottom, and if you can find a way to screw the slider to a wall by means of these holes, then you can execute wall-mounted vertical and horizontal glides and add even more versatility of movement to your scenes. You can also position the slider tilted on a tripod and have your glides slanted.

The slider is made of aluminum alloy, and the sliding camera carriage has plastic cups underneath by which it slides smoothly on the slider rails. The carriage has removable 1/4" and 3/8" screws for attaching a camera or fluid head, and it is itself removable so that you can comfortably attach the camera or head off of the slider. The carriage also has one 1/4" thread on each top corner so that in addition to a camera you can mount articulating arms with lights, mics and other accessories. A knob on the side of the carriage tightens to keep the carriage from moving and a bubble level on the top helps measure how even the slider is positioned. The slider's feet are removable too and attach on by included hex screws. The feet feature rubber tips on their bottoms to provide a secure grip and prevent the slider from moving about.

I used this as my travel slider since my higher-end 23" slider exceeded 8 lbs. This is sufficient as long as you accept the limitation inherent with this build. No bearings meant that I had to ditch the battery grip for my a7s and my traditional Manfrotto fluid head. In fact, I also bought a much lighter fluid head with a plastic build in order to drop the weight. Even with the lightweight setup, I still had some friction problems and had to repeat some movements several times. Again, all of this is expected with a plastic-on-aluminum track. If you feel that extra work is a good trade-off for portability (especially given airline weight restrictions), then this slider is sufficient for minor slider work.

I bought this as my first slider. For the price, it works as it should. It's not super-smooth or silent. If you need both (or just one) of those things, this probably isn't the slider for you and you should look at the more expensive/professional ones.

It's adequately sturdy with a nice weight. Sliding, it tends to drag a little bit and has a noise (grinding - though it's more of a friction thing than metal on metal) that would require recording sound away from the camera.

It is very easy to use and easily put together. I bought a tripod head to place on the plate, and it works very well. Also, as this was my first slider, I really underestimated how big a 23" track is. It's good for small, subtle tracking shots.

We wanted a simple cheap slider and we got it. It works pretty well. Fits in the bag with our tripod. We've been able to get some nice looking shots for weddings and engagement videos without much work, but it does seem a little sticky at times. Use a wide (really wide) angle lens for the smoothest shots.
