I purchased this memory to upgrade an older iMac from 4 GB to 16 GB as the new Yosemite version seems to be a memory hog. I removed the initially installed Apple memory that came with the system and added the (4) new modules provided my this order.

Initially the system would not power on and gave me a series of beeps when I powered the system on. Through trial and error I found that one of the four modules had a problem so ended up with only 3 of the modules working on the iMac. Everything seems to be running fine with 12 GB of memory and greatly immproved performance than with the 4 GB previously installed.

I will contact B&H about the one module that does not work and am sure they replace and/or refund the cost. I would have given 5 stars if not for the hassle of having to determine the failing module and returning it.

I upgraded my early 2009 iMac with this 8gb memory. It works, but the computer started randomly going into sleep mode. No data loss, just narcolepsy. I reinstalled Mavericks, and it seems to be better, but the screen did go black for a second once, then came back. I only did this yesterday, so we'll see...

I also didn't get the vast performance boost the hype promises. It takes almost as long to render stuff as it did with 4gb. I also replaced the dvd drive with an SSD. So what was a 14 hour render is now 12. Big deal. Not worth the cost or the trouble.

Purchased to update RAM in 2010 MacMini.
The newest OS X Mavericks seems to slow the computer down a ton, so maxxed out the Mini with 8GB. Run great, much faster!

Going from 4gb to 16gb makes even an older iMac run so much better. After switching to OS X Yosemite my system was running slower but this did the trick. Plus it's a good price.

Instead of replacing my 2010 Mac Mini which grew very slow with the original 2GB RAM or paying a PC shop to upgrade for $, I bought 8GB Crucial RAM and installed myself. I am not tech savy and was worried I might break something but 10 minutes and 3 reinstalls of boards (did not have seated all the way down)I have a new Mac Mini that is faster than ever. Thanks B&H Photo!

I order this additional memory for my 2009 21.5 iMac since its performance decreased with the upgrade to OS X Yosemite and Photoshop Elements software to archive old family photos and slides. The modules went in fairly easily (I had to push a bit harder than anticipated to make them seat properly) and I noticed improved performance right away. In retrospect, maybe I should have ordered the 16GB kit for even better performance, but I am pleased with the new life the 8GB kit has given to my aging computer.

I have a 15 inch mid 2009 MacBook Pro. The install was quick and easy with just a small screwdriver. You can watch a YouTube video on how to do it. It speedup my computer to a tolerable pace. It was super slow before after many software upgrades. As apple continues to upgrade I am sure it will slow to intolerability again. I am sure I will get a new computer, but for now the increase in memory is worth the price.

I bought memory because I am a video editor and I could not run Final Cut Pro X without at least 4GB of memory. I had my Macbook Pro since 2010 and this is the first time I got some memory for it. Since I restored my new memory I still experience computer crashes and I'm not sure what the problem is with the memory or hard drive when running FCPX. It also takes forever to export videos still, and I thought the memory would fix that... I'm actually not sure what the memory did for my computer besides letting FCPX run on my computer with not much issue.. So that's why I gave it a 3 out of 5 stars.

Not much of a discernible difference in speed for my MBP, I still get that spinning beach ball, but maybe a little less - especially when I have multiple apps open.
