Viewable at many angles of view. Works seamlessly with Macbooks and PCs. Fast refresh and fine detail. Display port works well with Thunderbolt on Macs. The 2560 x 1440 IPS/PLS panel is truly beutiful. The On screen display is outdated but still easy to use.

Comments about ViewSonic VP2770-LED 27" Widescreen LED Backlit IPS Monitor:

The factory color calibration was so good that the transition from old to new monitor was utterly transparent. Didn't bother to do a new hardware calibration. USB 3.0 ports are a plus. Was looking at the Asus and Dell but glad I went for the Viewsonic. The monitor is exTREMEly bright, and reducing the brightness to the recommended level of 18 (yes, 18!) worked perfectly. No complaints.

Comments about ViewSonic VP2770-LED 27" Widescreen LED Backlit IPS Monitor:

I'd start with the build quality on this which is superb. The stand is rock solid, and you can lift it to a very high position. The stand never rocks even when I apply some pressure to the desk.
The matte coating is also great, it's not grainy at all and is a pleassure to look at. It's not reflective at all.
Color accuracy is excellent, and the contrast is perfect with the matte coating. The monitor comes calibrated from factory, but you could further improve the accuracy with a calibration tool such as X-Rite i1Display Pro or Spyder4ELITE, both of which are sold here.
Gaming performance feel similar to the BenQ. I can't tell the difference. Both are free from ghosting.

I really don't have any major complaints about this one, only some minor ones which really just require some getting used to.

          Minor complaints:
The lowest stand position is still quite high. It's really higher than usual, but nothing too serious. I've just tilted the monitor down a bit so it feels somewhat lower.

I have a standrard table, 60cm deep, 120 wide and the bird stand gets in the way of my Corsair K95. They are both on the table, but it's a tight fit. If you place it on the right corner or the left it won't get in the way.

The touch buttons are not backlight so it's quite hard to nevigate the menu in the dark. I use the backlight function on my keyboard to see which button I'm pressing.

Small deviance in the upper right. Fixable with calibration.

Against the BL2710PT? It's a tough choice, but I think this one is better for color accuracy tasks. It's worth the 70$ more If you're working with color.
Both are top of the line monitors. You won't find anything better at that price.

Comments about ViewSonic VP2770-LED 27" Widescreen LED Backlit IPS Monitor:

Needed monitor for photo editing with lots of pixels, big screen, clear, clear, clear. Got all that with this monitor. Unfortunately, couldn't find a laptop (PC) with more than 1920x1080 resolution so I don't get the total good of this monitor - it supports a higher resolution. But it's good enough for me and such mountains better than what I had that I'm delighted with it. What's better, it's pretty much plug and play. You can set brightness, color scale, etc, but it's preset to pretty near perfect. My only complaint is that the CD with drivers, user manual, and other stuff that I'm not even sure of since it wouldn't load on my new laptop, is that the CD doesn't support Windows 8. I had to noodle through the Viewsonic website, and even talk to the chat folks at Viewsonic since even the website isn't crystal clear about where to find drivers, user manual, and whatever else is on the CD. I just have to trust the chat person that I got it all. Viewsonic needs to realize that it's getting harder and harder to buy a new computer without having to put up with the cursed Win8. Oh, and it comes with every cable with a port on the monitor except an HDMI cable. That was puzzling since it has an HDMI port and HDMI to HDMI is the next best resolution-getter (next to DVI). So I was all ready to use it and realized I needed a HiSpeed HDMI cable. Of course, bad on me since it's not included in the "What's Included" list but I didn't notice. So I had to put off using it for a couple of days until I got that. Otherwise, I feel like I've been half blind while photo editing until I upgraded to this one. It's every bit as good as what I've read about monitors with the same specs for hundreds of dollars more and more versatile since it has an HDMI port.

Comments about ViewSonic VP2770-LED 27" Widescreen LED Backlit IPS Monitor:

It is one of the best monitors I've had the pleasure of using. Ample desktop space, colors, clarity, etc. are great.

The only thing that could be improved is to have the USB ports on the side of the monitor. They are located in the port panel at the back, so not the most convenient to use as a hub for devices you plug in/out frequently.

This is an upgrade from a Viewsonic VG175 which I used for over 10 years without any issues (and still works). Looking forward to another product without issues, but only time will tell.

Usable right out of the box, quick to switch on, low power consumption, nice picture. I use it with a Mac Book Pro by the mini display port to display port. Only cons is the 16-9 format screen and not a 16-10.
