Comments about Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000:

I have used this mouse with Windows 7, 8/8.1 and had no issues. It uses blue lazer technology so I have been able to use it on any surface, carpet, furniture fabric, wood, etc. While I have big hands, I still find it very comfortable to use. Scroll goes not only up and down but also side to side. The doggle is not a micro size but small than a thumb drive. I use my computer on my lap and have never had a problem with the doggle size. It stores nicely in the underside of the mouse in a recessed area. The battery life if excellent. Storing the doggle in the mouse turns the unit off. I normally just leave mine on with the doggle plugged in.This mouse is a little more expensive than many mouse, but in my opinion, worth every penny, it's the only one I would ever use.

Comments about Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000:

I'm a professional video editor and work with a mouse significantly in my day-to-day workflow. Over the years, I've developed severe pain in my hands and arms due to carpal tunnel. I tried a few different mouse configurations and accessories to minimize the pain, but to no avail. About a year ago, I decided to try this mouse after enjoying the feel of it in my hand in the store. I admit that I was skeptical about buying another mouse but the pain was affecting my ability to be productive. Fast forward one year later...my symptoms have been drastically reduced and I find that the pain in my hands and arms as almost completely disappeared! My co-workers may poke a little fun at the guy who brings his own mouse to work, but this mouse has really made an amazing improvement and it's the most comfortable mouse I've ever owned. This is actually my second one!

Comments about Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000:

I bought this because it was listed under the 'mini' category, but this is not a miniature mouse. In addition, the usb plug-in is rather bulky. I do not like the fact that the only way to turn the mouse off is to either take the battery out or reattach the usb plug-in to it.

On a positive note, the mouse has great features. The scroll wheel is smooth and has horizontal scrolling. There are also 2 auxiliary side buttons in addition to the conventional 2 for your index and middle fingers; makes for a nice remote control when I'm scrolling through my iTunes library or web browsing.

I just really wish the mouse and usb plugin were smaller and that there was a turn off switch for the mouse itself. Other than that, it's a good mouse for the price.

This mouse didn't work well on Windows 8 for me. Very glitchy & jumpy. Moved it to my laptop with Windows 7 and it works just fine so far.
