Comments about Ruggard Thunderhead 35 DSLR & Laptop Backpack:

I received a free Ruggard Bag with a prior B&H purchase. It made me a fan of the Ruggard line. Very impressive quality and design. When I needed a medium sized backpack I went straight to the Ruggard lineup. Compared to other brands, Ruggard wins hands down. Great bag at a great value. Compare bags and you will buy a Ruggard. Many to choose from.

Comments about Ruggard Thunderhead 35 DSLR & Laptop Backpack:

I wanted something that I could use as a carry-on when traveling for both camera gear and my laptop/tablet. After lots of online research, I arrived at this, and so far it seems like a great choice. It's comfortable, not too heavy, roomy and versatile. The laptop/tablet hybrid slides into the pocket next to my back, even with its case on. And there is plenty of room for the camera with lens attached and multiple other lenses. The construction feels solid, too. Sturdy feeling zippers. I like it.

Comments about Ruggard Thunderhead 35 DSLR & Laptop Backpack:

This is a very well made camera backpack. Has great cushioned shoulder straps so your arms never get sore. The great thing about this camera bag is that it also provides lots of space for multiple lens, two cameras, memory cards, extra gear and an additional seperate space for my laptop. It also has velco straps that provide great support for attaching your tripod when you are not using it. Its a perfect size and is not cumbersome or overbearing. Just the right size with lots of space.

Comments about Ruggard Thunderhead 35 DSLR & Laptop Backpack:

After an enormous amount of research into a camera bag where I traded off shoulder bags, sling bags and backpacks, this one fit all my needs. I needed sufficient room for my camera and lenses such that I would not have to change lenses just to put the camera away. Additional storage is extremely good for all my equipment plus a laptop. I don't often carry one but it is additional storage for me. The bag is very well made and very comfortable. The front strap from left to right shoulder strap, adds stability and extra comfort and is very easy to attach and remove. The bag is huge for storage and small for carrying!! Some bags put the tripod storage covering access but here, it is on the side and only needs to be removed when you want to use it. An additional plus is the ability to remove and store the camera just by partially opening the access zippers without having to lay the bag down. My only complaint, if I had any, is that I would like to have the laptop compartment optional (removable internally?) to provide just a little more depth for vertical vs horizontal mount of some intermediate lenses. Otherwise - an excellent, well made choice for a backpack and great value for the money.

Comments about Ruggard Thunderhead 35 DSLR & Laptop Backpack:

I was looking for a camera case that would hold my 13" MacBook as well as my gear when traveling and chose this one. It was everything I had hoped for. It has many pockets and compartments for all the gear plus an almost hidden zippered slot for the MacBook. It's a bit bulky to carry, but beats carrying an extra bag for the MacBook that was hard on the shoulder. The bag fit easily into the overhead compartment. Price was right too.

I have a Nikon D800E an I have that plus 3 lenses that are well padded and protected. The back pack is small and lightweight and adjusts easily so I can carry it comfortably. I have significant back and neck problems and this is great for carrying my equipment and keeping me hands-free. The laptop area is next to your back and can be uncomfortable for someone my size (I am only 5 ft tall), but it is tolerable.

Comments about Ruggard Thunderhead 35 DSLR & Laptop Backpack:

I bought this bag to replace a much loved and ancient bag that I had finally out grown, equipment wise. I was curious to see if this budget brand (Ruggard) delivered. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this bag more than exceeded my expectations. The configuration of the bag is excellent with lots of pockets and spaces designed to accommodate a wide variety of storage needs. The ZIPPERS are EXCELLENT on this bag. There is plenty of room to zip compartments even if things are a little on the over-stuffed side. The stitching seems to me to be tight and durable and I get the sense that this bag is going to in service for a long while. I especially appreciate the excellent construction of this bag. Everything fits well and nothing is too tight or too hard to zipper closed. The rain cover is generous in size and snug when it is on the bag making for yet another winning combination. There are two side pockets which will easily hold a standard diameter 16.9 ounce water bottle with a little extra wiggle room in the pocket that can be cinched up with the spring loaded clasp at the top of the pockets. Using one of these side pockets you can secure your tripod to the bag and there are plenty of straps to keep it on your bag motion free.Right now I'm carrying around 20 pounds of gear in this bag and the padding is excellent. The straps are adjustable but I'm finding that the basic configuration fits me (Female) very comfortably. In the compartment closest to your back, between the rear padding and main camera compartment there is a sleeve for a 13 inch laptop. The zippered opening seems to be about 12.5 inches while the actual compartment is a little larger. This compartment is nice and roomy and NOT a tight fit, especially when compared to some other brands of bags. Inside the main compartment there are plenty of wall dividers awaiting customization. The waist belt provided with this bag was chafing my arms during my hikes so it was a simple matter to grab a sharp pair of scissors and lop it off with no detrimental effect on the bag or its carrying comfort. The only other concern I had at the outset was the lack of corded zipper pulls to the zipper tabs but so far I have not missed them.In closing I do not consider this a budget bag any longer. In light of its excellent durability, configuration and value, I now consider it quite the steal and I would not hesitate in purchasing another bag from this company.

There is plenty of room for one camera w/battery grip w/70-200 mounted, spare body, flash, four lenses, batteries, flash cards, one combo reflector, Tripod or portable stool, water bottle, and all your misc. This back pack is very sturdy and well thought out, the zippers are heavy duty, there are attachment points all over this bag, D-rings and support straps were a real surprise.
