Comments about Ruggard Thunderhead 55 DSLR & Laptop Backpack:

I used this on a recent trip to the Grand Canyon and carried a Canon 7D MKII with grip, a Canon 100-400 IS II, a Canon 16-35 f4 and a Tamron 24-135 f3.5-5.6 as well as a monopod, flash and had room left over. It is large and can get heavy when loaded, but will handle about anything you throw at it.

Comments about Ruggard Thunderhead 55 DSLR & Laptop Backpack:

I've taken this bag out on 4 photo excursions. On each excursion, I packed 2 DSLRs, 4 lenses (20-35mm zoom, 28-70mm zoom, 100mm fixed, 200mm fixed), 1 pair of 10x42 binoculars, and some odds and ends. I packed one camera with the 28-70mm attached and the other with the 200mm attached. Total weight came to about 20 lb. The bag accommodated all my gear very well and allowed easy access to everything. However, the plastic belt buckle broke on the first day out (a plastic prong broke off -- I subsequently replaced the buckle with a more sturdy buckle from a hiker's backpack that I own). In addition, I'm concerned that the shoulder straps are not hefty enough to support a pack that is designed to accommodate 25-30 lb of gear. So far, the shoulder straps have not failed, but I am concerned that one might tear loose, and I make it a point to inspect the shoulder straps carefully each time I get back home from an excursion, looking for signs of failure. The literature that came with the bag states that the bag is "rugged" with "major stress point reinforcement," but the shoulder straps and the points where the straps are sewn onto the bag are not nearly as rugged or as reinforced as the straps on my (nonphotography) hiker's backpack. Other than concerns about the straps coming loose, I'm very happy with the bag.

Comments about Ruggard Thunderhead 55 DSLR & Laptop Backpack:

Solid construction, lots of storage space. I use it primarily for storage or travel. Heavy to carry on a long hike for a shoot, and doesn't have a water bladder for longer hikes/shoots. As much room as it has, longer/bigger telephoto lenses don't fit well with all other gear.

Comments about Ruggard Thunderhead 55 DSLR & Laptop Backpack:

I carry a lot of my camera equipment with me wherever I go and needed a backpack that was spacious and comfortable to wear on my back. This backpack fits the bill! It's well designed with lots of places to put stuff of different types, including my 15" Macbook Pro. I've even had times when I've used the built-in rain cover. I love it! Thanks, Ruggard!

Comments about Ruggard Thunderhead 55 DSLR & Laptop Backpack:

It is quite a good backpack to hold yyour laptop and camera equipment. It is very well padded to absorb any bumps. The storage is plentifulso you can store electrical parts, lenses, cameras, computer, charges and booklets.
Not sure if you can carry it on aircraft but from a recent flite I think you can after watching carry on luggage sizes.
