Comments about SIIG USB Video/Audio Capture Device for PC & Mac:

I used the SIIG for a total of about 2 hours worth of capturing. The video is OK, the issues I am having are video/audio sync and lots of dropped frames. From what I can tell from the Cyberlink forums, the sync issue may be a Cyberlink issue (Mine came 'with' Cyberlink PowerDirector 8), which is an older version. That said, I have not been able to get any other software to recognize the USB adapter including Adobe Premiere Elements 10. I am not happy with being strapped to an old version of Cyberlink, however, if I can resolve the video/audio sync issue, I will be happy enough just to get my old 8mm video onto a computer. The dropped frames are bad going to a USB attached drive, capturing to an internal SSD drive, seems to be better but, I expect very few, if any, dropped frames. All in all, its an inexpensive solution, so long as you can deal with the older Cyberlink software, dropped frames and a solution tied to just Cyberlink.
