Questions? Ask our experts:

The Nikon F mount Rokinon 24mm T1.5 Cine ED AS IF UMC Lens was developed primarily for film and video applications. The cine version of Rokinon's 24mm lens features industry-standard gearing for the focus and aperture ring, and the aperture ring has been de-clicked for smooth iris pulls. The aperture and focus scales have also been relocated to the side of the lens, where it is easier for focus pullers to read them.

This lens is compatible with FX (full-frame) sensors and can also be used on DX-sized sensors, where the 35mm-equivalent focal length will be 36mm. The optical construction incorporates four extra-low dispersion elements, as well as two aspherical elements, to reduce chromatic aberration and distortion to produce sharper imagery. Additionally, a UMC coating has been applied to lens elements to minimize lens flare and ghosting for more contrast-rich images.

Wide-angle prime lens is well-suited to use in a broad variety of shooting situations.
Fast T1.5 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions and provides greater control over focus placement for shallow depth of field applications.
Four extra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements reduce chromatic aberrations in order to produce greater sharpness and clarity.
UMC coating improves light transmission and suppresses lens flare and ghosting for more contrast-rich, color-neutral images.
Geared aperture and focus rings are compatible with standard follow focuses for greater control over adjustment.
De-clicked aperture ring facilitates smooth, quiet exposure adjustments during recording.

Comments about Rokinon 24mm T1.5 Cine ED AS IF UMC Lens for Nikon F Mount:

There's a lot of awesomeness packed into this lens. Before I bought it, I read numerous reviews by pro and fellow hobby videographers. It was a mixed bag and I was on the fence for a while about buying this lens. I'm extremely happy that I did. The first thing I noticed was how smooth the aperture and focus rings were. I had no problems changing aperture and focus on the fly and it was extremely nice to finally be able to have full manual control, which is another plus. The wide angle is also extremely nice, making sure that nothing is out of the shot. The picture is a tiny bit soft when the lens is wide open, which i rarely use, and only a pro or a guru of sharpness and detail will notice this. It still looks great. The colors are nice and rich and it's most certainly worth the money if you're a video enthusiast on a budget. It probably won't leave my camera for a long time. Indie filmmakers and video shooters... this is a good, if not one of the best options for you right now, especially if you're broke like I am. I can't recommend it enough. The only gripe is that the lens hood is way too loose and can easily fall off. Not a big deal, really. If you're thinking about getting this lens, don't think about it too much and just buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Comments about Rokinon 24mm T1.5 Cine ED AS IF UMC Lens for Nikon F Mount:

So I had been looking at reviews and I wanted to get wide with out distortion. I was in NYC and went by B&H and tried it on my D600. I tried the 14, 16 adn fell in love with the 24mm. I got the cine lens so you can adjust apeture on the fly and it is smooth like butter and handles likes no bodies busines in low light. As a film maker this will sing. I even shoot it with still as I can capture subjects up close and get them all in the frame.

I will definitley order additonal Rokinon lenses. I am currently using it with my Nikon D200 and my Panasonic GH2 with Nikon Adaptor. It's a wonderful lens in quality and exceeds my expectatioons for cost and looking forward to purchasing a variety of the focal lengths from the Rokinon line.

Comments about Rokinon 24mm T1.5 Cine ED AS IF UMC Lens for Nikon F Mount:

I bought this lens and a 35mm 1.4. The focus ring on the 24mm felt kind of loose. The ring on the 35mm was perfect. I could have returned the 24mm but I didn't have time since I had a shoot next day. I just took a screwdriver, took the ring off, and tighten the small screws on the lens. Put the focus ring back on and it was perfect. I really like this lens so I have mixed feelings about it.
The rating I gave it was based on the image quality and trying to forget the focus ring incident.

This is another nice lens in the new Rokinon Cine line up. It is my second Rokinon prime as I bought the 35mm T1.5 last month and plan to collect the set. I'm using them on my Sony F3 with no problems. The build is stong and functionality great. I can't wait for the 85mm and then hopefully a 50mm.
