The Mitsubishi HC7800 3D Home Theater Projector includes Mitsubishi's first 3D in DLP home theater projector. Beyond supporting 3D movies on Blu-ray Disc, the projector has built-in motion-vector technology for high-precision conversion of 2D content.

Full High Definition
The HC7800 HD projector is equipped with a high-performance extra-low dispersion (ED) 13-lens system for full high definition resolution. Images remain sharp and clear, with chromatic aberration minimized to the fullest and resolution improved, including the periphery.
Bright Picture
With 1,500lm luminance and a new color management function, the 3D projector provides superior images. A high-power lamp ensures enhanced brightness and contrast, so high-resolution images are clearer, sharper and more vivid in both 2D and 3D. The home theater projector includes colors that were previously hard to produce so images are seen with deeper, more vivid hues.
3D Performance
The HC7800 HD projector offers DLP, high-precision conversion and original 3D glasses with high-speed liquid-crystal shutter to deliver optimum performance. Using motion-vector analysis technology, 2D images converted to 3D have a natural sensation of depth. The optional glasses are made to match the high-speed DLP system. This results in low levels of eye fatigue. Active-shutter glasses enable each eye to get the full 1080p resolution of the picture.

Comments about Mitsubishi HC7800 3D Home Theater Projector:

I was very fortunate to have tried both the Epson 3020 and the Mitsubishi HC7800D. Returned my first Mits since it had a pixel defect and decided to try the Epson because of its rave reviews.

The Epson's picture was noticeably grainy compared to the Mitsubishi. I even used the recommended calibration settings for the Epson, and it was nothing compared to the Mits' out-of-the-box settings. Light output for the Epson, however, is significantly brighter.

There are some negative reviews out there about the 7800's black levels. If that stuff doesn't bother you, trust me, you probably won't even notice. It's not that bad, and it doesn't bother me one bit.

With 3D, forget it. The 7800 is far more realistic and far superior over the 3020. The 3020's glasses are better aesthetically and use RF, but I'll take the ugly 7800 glasses anytime because the 3D is that much better!

So I reordered the 7800 and returned the 3020. Boy, did I do the right thing!

Bottom line... the Mits is a step higher than the Epson for both 2D and 3D picture quality. And ironically it's cheaper too! (Even after paying for the restocking fee since I used the projector for over 2 hours.) I had no intention of returning the Epson, but after using it for several hours I found myself missing that wow factor that I had experienced with the Mits. As for the rave reviews given by others, I would probably be satisfied too if I hadn't tried the Mitsubishi.
