Great tablet, maybe one of the best on the market. Beware there are internet connectivity issue with the device though, it seems to be a driver related problem and Acer is working to fix it. But, when I first got the device it would constantly loss wifi signal. But other than that, the accessories are great, the keyboard is very nice and love the case that comes with the PC. The PC is also very fast, and reasonably quiet. Runs games like a breeze and multitasking is not an issue so far.

      Pros:

WOnder why 4G LTE is not built in, Acer does offer the W701 series are W700 + a 3G SIM SLOT.

This SLABLET can be a true telecommuters & travellers dream or Nightmare, depending on how you look at it.

      For starters
      1) It has Remote Deskttop.
      2) Being windows 8 , offers the best of drivers available. It can support usb 3g/4g dongles unlike Android or IOS tablets.

      3) The Native BIT defender (TUrned off by default ) is way better that OEM installed McAfee which I unstalled & and defender turned on automatically. U cannot turn on defender with McAfee installed.

      CONS:

      1) The SLABLET gets hot fast and vents hot air from the ports above after about 5 minutes of setup. I could propel myself it i was using in the space station.

      2) Camera lacks focus and zoom control. The camera pics on both front and rear are grainly.

      3) Sluggish touch response to close window or any click action.

      4) Onscreen Keyboard does not appear automatically except while logging on the SLABLET . This seems a designed feature of Windows 8, but a MAJOR ANNOYANCE

      5) Firefox does not pinch zoom in/out

      6) NO expandable memory or Card reader or micro sd port or GSM Chip slot

      7) No built in 4G LTE ( This should be expected in all tablets as is WIFI and BLUE TOOTH)

      8) Updates took few hours and consumed all space leaving only 24 gb free. What the hell?? Multiple times to update from Microsoft and Acer seperately. Set up took about 6~8 hours for all updates to complete/reboot/ reupdate. Its not intutively automatic and intelligent to run in the background.

      9) Hate the windows app store interface on windows 8. Cannot search for an App by name. Still many apps available in Droid or Ipad world are yet to make it over here.

      10) Windows8 metro tile grouping not as well thought out or designed as IPAD or Androids

Overall a Desktop replacement ( Since it comes with a Micro HDMI to VGA adapter ) if supplemented with a large monitor, wireless or usb hard drive, and other accessories.

Perhaps some day I will partition and install dual boot ( Android/ Windows ) and get the best of both worlds.

Other times when i m on travel or so.. the 64gb store is more than enough... It the second week now and i still had no negative experience. Maybe Acer should have more apps.

This one has competed with MS surface and samsung ATIV. However ATIV was defeated for its processor was an ATOM, which is rather incompetent, and vs Surface it costs about 1.5 times much than this Iconia! Actually the system performance of iconia and surface is almost identical. Ah, and wider screen!
            Go for it!

from basic surfiing, to photoshop runs well, a little slow at times, but for a descent portable tab it does well. if speed is an issue go for one of the i5 models. over all a good computer, but can be a little slow at times.

Liked the amount of accessory that comes with the tablet. It also came with the brown folio case which wasn't mentioned in the product page.

Had issues with the Wi-Fi at one point but a driver update fixed it. Tablet itself is sturdily built and performance is snappy.

Comments about Acer 64GB Iconia W700 11.6" Tablet (Silver):

I absolutely love this tablet. I fortunately have not had any of the wifi connectivty issues others are having. The size is great and the weight is better than on many 10 inch tablets. It does everything I need it to do from reading books, surfing the web to creating the occasional word document.

                flawed WiFi modem

Comments about Acer 64GB Iconia W700 11.6" Tablet (Silver):

If it weren't for the WiFI, I'd give this device a 4 (or a 5, if not for the weight, which I found to be a little heavy for functionality as a tablet) -- but the Atheros modem in the device is fundamentally flawed. When I first opened the tablet, I thought the Wifi configuration wasn't even working, as I sat in my kitchen and my other devices worked fine. But when I took it to the room with the router, and it worked somewhat there though not altogether well. Installing the firmware update did nothing to improve this.

Just google 'acer iconia W700 wifi issues' -- there are many frustrated customers on the Acer forum, and no clear solution to the problem. I spent a couple days with this and decided to return the tablet.

I like the way it is put together, seems solid. A bit heavy but all Intel tablets are like that. This tablet is basically a surface clone, but much better. For these reasons: 1)Cheaper, 2) Includes keyboard saving 3) 1" bigger screen 4) it's available and surface Pro is not
